HubTx Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 Dayton is the best team, I don't think there are any arguments there, but I'll say that we will really find out Friday with BH/Nederland.... I think Nederland will win the game, and honestly, I think the four playoff games will favor 20-4A (Dayton maybe the only win for 19-4A)....Top to bottom 20-4A is definitely better....

cbear4 Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 20-4A from top to bottom is more solid that 19-4A, IMO. There seems to be some solid coaches in 20-4A that prepare their kids very well each week even with weaker talent. There are several teams in 19-4A that have plenty of talent but are not put in a good postion to win, especially if the game is close. Just an observation and I wish it were not the case. I hear the Baytown area used to be crazy about their sports teams, but I think it will take some consistent winning seasons to get the mojo back there. The fans in 20-4A are crazy about their teams and I think it has to do with high school being just about the only game in town and get much coverage from the media. Not the case when playing so close to Houston.

The only time under Olin that Lee made it that far. We filled up our entire side of the stadium, standing room only, and about 1/2 of the Hastings side. Baytown used to have a very devoted fanbase. I remember the season tickets we would get and the same people would get season tickets around us every year for decades. I doubt if more than 9 or 10 people even buy season tickets now.Different demographic has moved into Baytown over the past 20 years. They just don't have the same sort of investment into the teams.I want to say that they would turn out again for a winner, but I don't know if that is even the case.
bh89-2 Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 I am probably the last one who should point out the gate and prance of the purple pride "indian", considering the freaking mascot at BH has been wusified to the point you just have to hide your face in public. Nederland fans, can you just imagine your French poodle marching out there with a pink bow on his head? Our national bird and the pride of the ant mound has been wusified again this year! P.S. WOS still sucks.

bh15 Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 For PNGfan1. I have been wanting to beat y'all in football since the quarterfinals of 1974. Until we do y'all are still #1 in my book in 204A.
rollinac Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 I see it like this....until North Forest, CE King, and GP show up with more than 100 fans in the stands, I'd much rather be in 20-4A. Better athletes - 19....better teams 20.

NHS1990 Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 Obviously it's different from one yr to the next, and this yr is young. According to the preseason 'hype', 20-4A seems to be the stronger district, but that means....what?? We should get a btr gauge by week 5-6.

Half the out of town games the Bronco fans attend, we have more fans than the home teams. That sucks. Love to see the fans supporting the kids. 20-4a pratically fills their stands win or lose. Love the electricity in the crowds. It's bad when you can hear the quarterback call signals. One thing i can say is the Bronco fans follow their team, win or lose. "GO BRONCOS"

I believe three years ago in the last game of district Dayton played CE King (both undefeated in district) for the championship. CE King didn't have over 200 people in the home stands. Pathetic, just pathetic. Crosby, BH, and Dayton are the only teams that have good home crowds in 19-4A, but in the end, PN-G has more season tickets sold than the homeside stands of those teams. Come to think of it, with the expansion, PN-G's homeside seats more people than the total capacity of Crosby, BH, and almost Dayton.
