CATS80 Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 I HAVE SAID IN MANY POSTS NEWTON IS A STRONG TEAM. AND I BELIEVE THEY CAN GO ALL THE WAY NEWTON BY 14
NOTWEN Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 too close of a game to call . marlin seems to turn it up against us every time we play them. i am going with my team newton by 3 points
Backwoods Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Newton gets better each time out. If they play to their capabilities, they will win. And we've done pretty good at Conroe.
Hupernikomen Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Marlin is an old nemesis. Good thing it isn't Mart, but Marlin will be a major challenge.
kvilleballa Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Newton has never beaten Marlin. Maybe that solid preseason schedule has helped them. I'll ride with what you call "purple pride" that will be Newton. Too close to call though.
newtoneaglefan Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 I will say that it will be a close game because of the simple fact every time we play marlin its close. Except in 2004 when they beat us 37-7 But i'm going to roll with newton and say Newton by 14 or more

Ty Cobb Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Newton has never beaten Marlin. Maybe that solid preseason schedule has helped them. I'll ride with what you call "purple pride" that will be Newton. Too close to call though. I can't believe that I'm going to agree with the Balla!!! I've had my battles with the Marlin Bulldogs and I promise you they will give Newton all they want. I still think Newton will come away with the win. Good luck to the Eagles!!!
duckbutter Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I would LOVE to see Newton by 21 but I just don't know. Marlin is down a little compared to years past but so are we. I look for a tight, hard fought game with Newton by 6.
Guest EagleFan01 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I agree with everyone!!!! It will be good game, Marlin is down this year from what they have been.... Im going to say if Newton plays the way they have been and as good as they did in the preseason with that tough schedule,,,, We can win this is say Newton by 13...
purple*pride Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Yea it'll be a good game Newton and Marlin but i have all the faith in them Eagles to go all tha way ..... Good luck Eagles!!!!

I'll ride with what you call "purple pride" that will be Newton. Too close to call though. That isnt *exactly* true. I believe Barbay's record vs Marlin is 1-4.
cfont4222 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I have seen both teams on video. From what I have seen, I will pick Newton in a close game. Past history in this matchup will not affect the outcome of the game. Good Luck Coach Barbay and all of the Newton coaches and players.
duckbutter Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 That isnt *exactly* true. I believe Barbay's record vs Marlin is 1-4.I can account for the 4 loses but not for the one win.......
Backwoods Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I can account for the 4 loses but not for the one win....... I don't remember a win.
sabertooth Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 As of this Saturday, we'll be able to account for a Newton victory over Marlin. Go Eagles!!!!
Hotrodg Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 I dunno about the win...I read it somewhere. I would guess it happened sometime before the readily available stats which begin in the late 90s. Then again, what i read may have just been wrong. *shrug*
