The Buna Cougars (1-0), fresh off an 21-14 win over rival Orangefield, travels to take on Hamshire-Fannett Longhorn (1-1) who fell to the Anahuac Panthers 21-6. Who will win?

H-F always has some big, athletic looking players but always seem to be missing something.  Maybe their new coach has them heading in the right direction.  There is no shame for H-F losing to Anahuac, year in and year out a solid football team.  Buna looked quite impressive in the first half Friday, but OF seemed to shut them down a bit in the second half.  My opinion, too many runs to the outside for the Coogs, not enough smashmouth football up the middle.  QB looked good, but needs better protection from the line to have time to find his receivers.  As they mature the next few games before district, this could be the best Buna team we have seen in a several years.  Gotta go with my Cougars in this one.  Good luck to all.  GO BUNA!!!

That is saying a lot.  The '07 squad was good losing to district champs EC by 1.  Would have went further in the playoffs if it wasn't for drawing Newton in the 1st round (they lost to eventual state finalist Tatum.)

It was a scrimmage so we was wearing our practice jerseys and we have 2 or 3 people wearing the same number, i can see where you would be mistaken.I can assure not theirs no way our starters played Dewyville and Center the same time. They might have played a series or 2 but not much more then that.
