HubTx Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 The truth is, who scheduled a high school game on the opening night of the NFL?
AggiesAreWe Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011
The truth is, who scheduled a high school game on the opening night of the NFL?
Why did the NFL schedule their opening game on a high school game night? Couldn't the NFL waited till Sunday to start all their games? The reasons you see high school games on Thursdays is because of stadium availability. All the inner city schools of metro areas (Houston, DFW, ect.) share stadiums. Livingston plays Houston Washington, who shares a stadium with 6 other schools.NFL should be ashamed of themselves for intruding on high school football.

Because of the number of schools and only 4 stadiums to play, Thursday, Friday and Saturday games are necessary. Here are the 4 HISD stadiums and the HISD schools that share them:Barnett Stadium: Austin, Chavez, Furr, Jones, Milby, Sterling, Wheatley, YatesButler Stadium: Bellaire, Lee, Madison, Sharpstown, Westbury, Westside, WorthingDelmar Stadium: Lamar, Reagan, Washington, Kashmere, DavisDyer Stadium: Scarborough, RamsSource: TexasBob's Football Stadium Database
