Rattlers Moving

It's that time of the year as timberattlers are moving around to mate.Seen 2 while cleaning my firing lanes this am on my tractor.Neighbor in Batson had a 4' w/8 rattles/button in her dog pen near the water bowl.Careful walking in wooded areas and nearby yards especially after dark.

Ran over a 5' w/12 rattlers @ dark,went another 20' got a cottonmouth.Guys they are moving esp.late.

what area did yall see these? I havnt seen alot of snakes but though they may be bad beause of the drought

Liltes is this late in the year for such movement?

Got a good scare from an 8 foot bull snake this weekend.  :o  If you have never seen one, they look almost just like a big rattler.

Been in the woods all my life......an 8 FT ANYTHING scares the crap out of me.........

Once had a LARGE chicken snake fall out of a tree right next to me......almost passed out.....lol

They are still moving in Moss Hill.Saw a t/rattler out 25 yds from my stand swallowing a small bird,as I was watching/scouting some deer come to the corn feeder.Rattler was not real big,maybe 3'.Later he crawled into a part hollow tree trunk.I'm guessing that was his last supper as I later plugged the hole w/a limb.He warned me he was still there.

[/quote]hippy, I saw the largest chicken snake(had to be 20 ft. long) in my shed once. It was up on the rafters. Never did see the end of the snake. He may have been longer but I was too busy getting outta there. All snakes might as well be 20 ft. to me.

one of the very few good things about having most of our lease burn this year is that there are very few snakes and very few ticks right now.
