Whats your opinion on the 7:00 PM start times?

Personally, not in favor of the earlier start times.  Our road games are all an hour or more by bus, so the band shows up late, the cheerleaders who also play volleyball on Friday evenings show up late.  I would prefer to keep the 7:30 start times myself.

I am sure the players and coaches like the 7:00 start time. Why should your band be late to the game?

They have to wait on the buses to return from after school drop offs.

Don't like it. Living in a town a long way from anywhere, it's hard enough to get home and then to a road game at the regular 7:30 time  ???

The times should be 7:30. This would allow time for folks who have to work on Fridays to get to the games before kickoff. Also, like it was mentioned, the smaller schools have to wait till the buses have completed there end of school runs in order to have buses for the bands and so forth. Some of those do not get back till 5:00 to 5:30.

Doesn't matter but I prefer 7.  Get there and the game starts.

I guess my problem behind the 7 pm start is that I really don't know what goal districts are trying to accomplish with this change and whether 30 minutes really achieves that goal.

On the other hand, I can see the tangible disadvantages of moving the games up and can see the difference that 30 minutes does make when it impairs student participation and to some extent parental attendance.

I like the 7:00 start times.  Gets the kids and the coaches home a little earlier.

I prefer 7:30. If they are trying to get the kids home earlier what difference is 30 minutes on a Friday night when there is no school the next day

I prefer 7:30. For home games a group of us all go out to eat before the game, our version of tailgating I guess! Also the extra 30 mins gives the sun a chance to lower enough not to be right in my eyes in my reserved seat!

Media loves the 7 pm kicks. It's been like that for 5A schools. I just like it because after by live shot at 6:50 I don't have to wait around for kickoff! Also photogs can shoot better highlights.

I hate the 7:00 kickoffs. Maybe cause I was in Smokepit, Texas aka West Texas heat. Sun goes down a little more if you start at 7:30

if you get off of work 5:pm or later, and it's a

Yeah, getting off at 5 and getting to a 7:00 is tough, especially if its an away game.  I perfer 7:30 games personally.

Agreed about sun in the visitors' eyes unless we're the home team. Ah but seriously, it's still hot at 7, and with Gore's climate change, it's going to get worse ;) ;)

No.

21-3A district games will be 7pm, non district still at 7:30pm. There will be some other area games this week that play at 7pm though.

I have seen a lot of games ending at 1030 and later. Not a bad move.
