bruno994 Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 C'mon, that's an easy one. Hemphill at Buna. Lots of ground game, maybe 800 + yards of rushing (and a few passes by Buna) at Cougar Stadium Friday night. Plus some really good food at the concessions on the visitors side (Athletic Boosters).

[/quote]Newton/Silsbee game does not qualify as a small school game. It's the SETXsports.com Big School Game of the Week for crying out loud!!! ;DLike I told you last night Soulja, you got to go to a game where some of the football players take off their pads and pick up their horns to march with the band at halftime. That's small school for ya!! ;)
Kville_Kats Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Kountze or Buna will both be good games...But Buna/Hemphill should be a lot of offense..This IMO would be the one to attend...
WOSgrad Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 I'll put in a plug for Kountze/West Hardin. Buna is definitely an adequate choice, but to truly get the feel of a small school game, you gotta go to a 1A stadium and where else better to do that than Saratoga!
ozens fastest@1906 Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Im just curious but how is the Silsbee/ Newton game the Big School game of the week, its a 3A and 2A game. 3A is the smallest Big School Classification

Ok. I gocha!

When a team of a lower classification plays a team of a higher classification, we as staff have classified it as a game in the larger classification. Thus making it eligible for the big school game of the week.I know there was some talk about making West Brook/Katy the Big School Game of the Week, but we like for the games of the week to be between schools in the SETX area.

HubTx Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Well technically, it can't get any smaller than Sabine Pass and Legacy, but if he wants to watch the best game, I'd have to say Kountze/West Hardin....

But to get the true small school experience, he has to leave Beaumont.

We don't have a band that our coach or players can change into at halftime and we are playing in Huntsville and those guys don't have lights on their football field, so we are playing at 5pm. Besides that...it's also 6man. In our neck of the woods anything bigger than 1a is big school ;D But I have to say..it's still pretty exciting..especially if you're an offensive side of the ball fanatic!
bruno994 Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Can't go wrong with Buna, we'll even give you directions to go see the Polka Dot house. After that stop, run by our BISD Administration office and view the monument celebrating our rich basketball history (11 state titles in boys and girls). Maybe even a quick meal at Faustos or Cailliers Cajun Snack Shack (if he has gumbo, order it, don't even hesitate). Aggies Are We might even be able to get you in on a good poker tournament.
NorthoftheBorder Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 All of these games are too close. Get him to a game far far away. We could all use the break! ;D

I'll be taking my normal 1st half pictures from the sideline, but then I'll be in the stands. I'd like to put a face to the name & voice. You can even wear your Jaguar shirt & I wont poke fun of you.
PNGFan Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Hemphill @ Buna, need some inside scoop on the QB over at Hemphill.
24 over par Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 it is not really small school but the game to see is newton silsbee
justafan1 Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 BmtSoulja for a true small school feel go to the West Hardin Kountze game. I will even pick you up on my tractor so you have a true feel for the small school.
