fisherking
Because I have the utmost respect for Don Price and his abilities, but he has won only two games since replacing the last guy the community didn't like, it should be obvious to all by now that coaching has never been the problem at HF. Different coaches come and go but always the same results. Why?

Mr. Blitz
Let the rest of this season play out Longhorns. When you have a total overhaul you don't always see the results that season or the very next. It is as much about attitude and effort as it is talent. Everyone one of Coach Price's teams have played with a great attitude and a great effort. Eventually the offseason program will begin showing on the field, just like "well coached execution". I can promise the talent pool in BH isn't that much greater than in HF. Let this season run it's course and put another class of Longhorns through the offseason program and the Price system. I can assure you that results will follow. I know its hard to watch now but success is coming.
dawg13
I can assure you that coach PRICE has improved the kids at HF.we have just have to get used to being the better TEAM on the field and off good post let the season play out.AND if you dont like what he has done and what he is doing get a coaching certification.NOT being smart but thats why the kids dont believe in themselves take time and talk to the kids if you really care about winning. Riding Solo
IMO and this happens at most schools, parents display way to much negativity towards coaches and other kids infront of their kids. Therefore the bad attitudes occur and eventually resulting in the kid not playing anymore. Therefore sometimes your good athletes are walking the halls or specializing in one sport. Riding Solo
I would also like to say that it will be hard for Orangefield, HF or HJ to compete in football on a regular basis with the likes of WOS, Silsbee or Bridge City. Orangefield has had one winning season since 2003. I also think it is a phase, I mean HF will have some good groups come through and they will compete. It just won't be every year like it was before some 4A teams dropped to 3A. Bridge City has 1000 more kids than Orangefield. Numbers do matter IMO. If Orangefield, HF and HJ really start to grow you will see a change. Won't see in my time, I don't think.
ChampionEagles
There are instances of a new coach and system that comes to a school and has instant success, but they are not the norm. An entire program, all the way from Jr. high , has to be implemented and given enough time for it to grow through to high school. Then a winning attitude has to be nurtured to be successful. This comes from not only the coaches, but the entire community, then it becomes "tradition".

All you have to do is look at how many kids are on the sidelines friday nights. There is a big difference.

If you break it down and say that half are girls and half is boys that is 86 or 21 more boys per class. Before you start I do realize that not all boys are in athletics. Lets say half 43 boy are in athletics from 9th to 12th. 43 is enough to make another varsity team. In 3A on down it does matter. In 4A on up it does not. You experts think I am whinning. No I am not, I am realistic. Now people will say how does 2A Newton compete with the big boys? Different breed of kids. They are still "old school", just like WOS. You don't see many parents visiting the coaches office to complain at those schools.

I think by saying something it should be motivation. You either have character or you don't. Are you part of the give every kid a ribbon generation????? They can either say yes I am right and give up or they can prove me wrong. The strong survive the weak do not. That is life, deal with it.
