Yes Newton did lose one of their starting running backs for this week.  But Everyone knows that Newton has produced athletes with tons of speed for a long time.  I will say that Buna has a powerful offense that is hard to stop however they have yet to line up against a hard hitting flying to the ball defense from Coach W T Johnston.  Remember this is the same scheme that had Kirbyville in contention for State in the past.  I say first half is close but Newton comes out by 21...

YES! It will be a blow out. Shorter most likely will return for playoffs. He tore a ligament in his ankle. Spikes is just as good and so is Brandon. Then dean at QB can run as well. Simmons, Stewert and Seastrunk catching. Buna will not stop the offense. ;D

Shorter should be back before playoffs is what i'm hearing. I thought it was just a pulled ligament.

I believe that Newton will win this one pretty handily, Buna is having a good year but hasnt played a team even close to the eagles. If hemphill can score 60 on buna newton will have a field day with that defense. and buna's offense want be able to run al over that eagle defense like the other "teams" they have already played.

As much as I want buna to open a can on newton, we all know newton comes out on top. I watched the twine kid run through buna like they weren't even there. I'm pulling for ya buna.  Hope I'm wrong.

Would love to see my cougs take Newton to the woodshed too. Of course, Newton will be the favorite in the matchup. But Buna is good enough to win if Newton doesnt show up with their A game. The most talented team doesnt always win. Play hard for 4 quarters, force a few turnovers, execute on offense....and it could get interesting  ;D Give em heck Cougs.
