High Island will return to the field Friday night

I know there had been some questions about the status of the High Island program this season and even some talk that Coach Jones may shut the team down for the season.

Well, I just got word from Coach Jones that the Cardinals will return to action on Friday night as they host Galveston O'Connell in High Island! I for one am glad to hear that the guys have recovered to the point where they can retake the field and wish them good luck on Friday night!

They are certainly eligible to do so.  Whether they will or not, that remains to be seen.  Coach Jones will sit down with the appropriate folks and make the decision that is the best for the folks in High Island.

I dont think so, Sabine Pass, Evadale & Burkeville seemed to have several kids each year.  I wish UIL would get rid of the split conferences for 1A all together.
