Rivalry dates back to 1922

This will be the 74th meeting between these two schools.

Jasper and Silsbee have played each other every year since 1948 (this will be 64th straight year)

Jasper leads all time series 42-29-2


Trends:

From 1958-1977, Silsbee won 15 of 20 (15-5), winning 9 straight ('60-'68)

From 1978-present, Jasper has won 25 of 33 (25-7-1), winning 8 straight ('90-'97)

Jasper went 17-2-1 from '78-'97 (85% win )

Since both teams have been in 3A (starting in '04), series is 4-3 in favor of Jasper.

Not real sure when it changed. I want to say in the early 90's.

Well you made me want to see if I could find when overtime came in. College started in 1996 and it was a few years after that when texas high schools started using it. Maybe 1998 or 2000.
