Kids will do dumb stuff, just wonder were the adults were when this was all taking place?
Oh please...
Please What?
Please quit asking stupid questions...His parents where probably doing the same things OUR parents were when WE did stupid things.  Watching TV at home or whatever normal unsuspecting Moms and Dads do.  My parents were awesome! But, there is no way they could keep up with me or my whereabouts 24/7.
I'm not talking about parents! And it's not a stupid question!
Which adults were you referring to? Generally, the adults assigned to specific kids are called parents...so what's not stupid about your question or (now) your follow up comment.
If your children attend functions such as church events, club events, school events or any such thing they are generally under other adults than their parents, true?
That is true. Perhaps Dawgnut should clarify to whom which adults he is referring... or he could continue with fingerpointing inane questions with no specifics...

This sounds like kids just being kids. I'm not sure why some people are making a big deal out of it. I for one am glad I didn't get caught doing all of the stupid things I did as a teen. Let them take their punishment and move on.

I am pretty sure their parents were not aware of their actions. We were all teenagers once. I know I told my parents I was staying somewhere and went elsewhere. That is just part of growing up. They are all good kids that made a mistake. All that we can hope is that they learn from it. That is if the parents will let them serve their time and leave it alone. Some will and some won't!

Kids being kids would seem to apply when kids sit around someone's house and drank are at the local park. Being at a school event and drinking on campus is a whole other issue.
Yes they were at the High School, and there was some type of school function going on at the same time. They had been at a party in Port Neches, and decided to go to the HS when the party was broken up.

So you can confirm PN-G football players have been caught drinking at school organized functions on campus? If not there is no glass house.

Aki, dude seriously, is the air so light up there, man it must be nice living in such a perfect community.  Man you are truly blessed, I'll just keep slummin.  And you wonder where some of this discontent comes from?  I don't have an infatuation with this rivalry like some, but comments like yours are what paints a picture for too many of the arrogance.  Truly sad.  And you've got some on your website just beggin for Neumann to be who they think he is.... instead of who he actually is.  Mistakes were made, consequences administered, and the train rolls on, as soon as these boys have dealt with the consequences, I know they'll have an opportunity to contribute again as they should.  And yes, you live in a glass house.

There were several Indianette officers kicked off the squad for drinking at an off campus school event when I was in high school, back in the day. If I remember correctly, they were in uniform. Does that count?

Teenagers screw up, period - even teenagers from PN-G. Their brains are not fully formed, especially in the area of decision making... proven fact. As much as I like to give my Bulldog friends h*ell, to pretend that this issue is confined to their campus is ludicrous.

Signed, proud Indian mom of 3 imperfect but still extremely awesome Indian boys.

LET US NOT FORGET THE DOGS HAVE MORE THAN 2 PLAYERS AND THE REPLACEMENTS HAVE STEPPED UP AND FILLED THEIR SHOES. THIS IS NO DIFFERENT THAN A SEASON ENDING INJURY. SURE THE PLAYERS WILL BE MISSED BUT WE CAN NOT DISCREDIT THE WHOLE TEAM BECAUSE OF THEIR MISTAKE. SO ENOUGH OF THE DRAMA OF THIS ISSUE AND LET'S GO WATCH THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME IN THE STATE OF TEXAS TO BE PLAYED AT THE RESERVATION TONIGHT.

Well , I was going to avoid this thread since I don't agree with news like this of a minor being aired publicly. But since it has kind of turned to underage drinking ( a subject I have strong feelings about) I will. And yes my post has nothing to do with the original title , I don't know any facts regarding that and don't want to know anything that is not my business. I believe a lot of regular PNG posters have stayed away from this  , yes some have took advantage to take a shot at our neighbors and it would be no different if it was the other way around.

Good post by ALWAYS BE FAUTHFUL , yes it happens here. Too much, as a matter of fact. The shame is when I see it going on and adults are consenting and allowing it to happen at their home. All this just to make sure your child's social status is where you want it to be. Not a smart responsibility to take on. Most of the time nothing is hurt but sometimes a childs life is lost , unfortunately. And yet some are still willing to take that risk here as well as most other communities.

OK , enough of my rant. I am looking forward to a great game tonight , hopefully we come out the winner. Go Indians!!!

So you can confirm PN-G football players have been caught drinking at school organized functions on campus? If not there is no glass house.

Can you confirm that they haven't?  Or have never done it?

I think my post has been misunderstood. I know kids at PN-G drink just like every other school. I just feel the whole it's just kids being kids and let's giggle about it and move on is the wrong approach by some.

This is the problem with all this internet stuff you can't see the person and here their voice and so they are misunderstood often. As far as the kids being kids thing that is the problem. Kids will be kids and therefore they must be protected from themselves many times not helped as was pointed out by allowing parties so your kid will be popular. I did a lot of things my parents didn't approve of but I did it somewhere else because they would have stopped it at home.

This sounds like kids just being kids. I'm not sure why some people are making a big deal out of it. I for one am glad I didn't get caught doing all of the stupid things I did as a teen. Let them take their punishment and move on.

Amen td ! Amen  . They're children

Kids being kids would seem to apply when kids sit around someone's house and drank are at the local park. Being at a school event and drinking on campus is a whole other issue.

Be careful about throwing rocks at glass houses.

Which goes to Dawgnut's point,  the parents or the police need to handle it, not the school district.

    • I don’t know about any rivalry there because I don’t live there but although LP and DP play in different classifications they still have a lot in common.  I mean, both beat Barber’s Hill this year!
    • I’m super excited for this game.  PNG has the team and game plan that will slow TH down.  No way we can stop them the entire game, but I feel if we slow them down we can win similar to what we did last year to Lake Creek and SOC.
    • Well Mustang fans it's time for my annual end of season rant. I've had so much company up here on the soapbox that I may have to start charging rent. After 3 years I don't think anything needs to be said. We all know what's wrong. We all know why. So what's the decision at the next board meeting? IMO, there's been enough imaginary success for the board to rubber stamp the Superintendent's vision for our future student athletes. #make every second count Due to soft scheduling and a weaker than normal district. The luck of knocking off 2 ranked opponents early when they were not healthy or still trying to figure it out. Also led to a premature ranking and a hollow DCTF weekly award. The 2 late season losses vs ranked teams proves what we know has been the biggest problem.  Football 19-15 .559 Baseball 9-35 .205 Basketball 19-35 .352 GBB 11-29 .275 Softball 1-22 .043 Volleyball 0-38 .000 Overall 59-174 .253   For anyone living in the district, I ask that you contact you're elected board members publicly and privately. Don't let them think this is exceptable. Be the solution to the equation. Not the divisor. This starts at the top and falls heavily upon those walking the halls. They deserve better.
    • I don't think it's 6-5 maybe 4-3
    • Sounds like a good idea, and something’s been needed for a long time. I know—where my kids & grandkids live now (DFW area)—schools are like revolving doors for athletic purposes. I don’t think the DPISD & LPISD option enrollment are anywhere like that. I assume it’s pretty above board since it was an arrangement apparently agreed to also by the state. I do know some kids that went to LPISD elementary schools in DP chose to go to DPHS because of the district rating. (Of course, at the time, DPISD and DP in general wasn’t very racially mixed like La Porte.) LPISD has a high number of kids on assistance programs compared to DP. Say what you will, it does make it more difficult for educational purposes and scores can reflect as much. LPISD is still rated high even with that challenge. Some of the kids that chose DPHS were very solid athletes that I’m sure LP would love to have had attend LPHS. Of course, part of the big rivalry between DP & LP has always been because DP ‘looked down’ on LP even though we worked side-by-side. Now that Shell DP refinery has been sold to PEMEX, DP is changing. Some aren’t happy about it. Some of us in LP are kinda tickled about it after the history.
