What is wrong with Lumberton?

Does Lumberton need a new head coach? I know Lumberton had never been to the playoffs before Coach Credeur ,but since the 07/08 teams Lumberton seems to be going back to there old ways. Is it just a lack of talent or is it the coaching? The way they've been playing I'm not sure if they will win a game in this tough 20-4A district.

Thanks Aggies Are We...and to be fair, they have talent, just not enough.  No depth whatsoever either.  The boys got heart though.  I am critical of their play, but it's just because I love 'em.  Don't count out Credeur, but especially don't count out these kids.  On paper, Lumberton should have beaten LC-M 34 to 12 if you look at last night's stats.  Unfortunately, stats don't win games.

You are small in numbers. It puts you in a hole to start out of....but cant be used in Sports as an excuse.  Its not where you start....but finish.  I saw a bunch of young men in the stands watching the football players on the field.  They need to get out there!  The more you have the better you are...if they are competitive by nature. 

On the opposite....If you are the school with numbers, ya better win.

The coach is working with what he has, and doing a pretty good job.  After you played Silsbee I knew that the LCM game was going to be a tight one.  You had better stats....just not a win.

When Credeur had the talent Lumberton was lights out!  Lack of talent is the issue

From what I've heard Lumberton has a young team, if so, as I have said it will be tough for them this year because of the teams they are playing. But I'll go out on a limb and say, if the fans will support them and help the coach keep their heads up, they will make the playoffs next year. :) :) :) :) :)

I agree lack of talent somewhat but "DEPTH" is the key issue. When lumberton played BH the score was tied 7-7 at half. In the 2nd half i saw some of the key players that had been going both ways for lumberton were getting tired and coming out for breathers. When that happened THE HILL started rolling.

Absolutely not. They are in a tough district. Not necessarily tough as in playoff depth. But it is a tough district to be one of the four playoff teams. They are only 0-1 in district , lots of football left.

I also agree with the depth comment. What many don't realize is this is not a "young" team as many keep stating.  There are 23 Seniors out of a team of 37.

Aggree Coach C is a good Coach and man and this? Really? maybe if some of these posters had more athletic sp jeans maybe their kids would win more games. Ya think?

With realignment next year, who knows were you could end up. Don't know your enrollment numbers. If for some odd reason Lumberton ends up in a large 3A district, you might roll thru em all. Also, talent ? Talent is there, it just needs to be discovered and worked with. Seems like ya'll should have beat LCM last night. Like others said, stats don't win games. I wouldn't try and run off a good coach. All of your players seem to respond well to him and keep fighting no matter what is happening in the games.
