NOW, whenever you`re trying to determine the validity of an action it never has anything to do with the number of people involved, whether it`s the person comitting the act or the person that the act is comitted to! I`ll make it real simple for you so you can GET the point!
EXample 1. The UIL has determined that it is against the rules to play academically ineligible players, players that don`t live in the proper school zone etc... in the early 90`s WO-S had ONE player determined to be academically ineligible and had to forfeit several games and was disqualified for the playoffs, even though they would have been districts champs. that involved one player!
Example 2. a few years ago Katy was one or two games away from playing for the state championship, a parent fed the whole team, the UIL determined that was a violation and they were kicked out of the playoffs.
here is the point, and it doesn`t matter if it`s an individual, an organization, or what. IF IT`S WRONG TO DO SOMETHING, THEN IT`S WRONG TO DO IT, WHETHER IT`S DONE TO ONE PERSON OR A MILLION PEOPLE. whether you`re talking about how we treat each other in the community (manners, etiquette etc...) or following the rules of some governmental agency. the number of people involved is IRRELEVANT!!!!
here`s something i think we all can agree on:for example it would be wrong to put an innocent man to death, because it`s wrong, not because of how many peolple were involved. I know the history at least as well if not better than you. What Steve, Dan, and Cornell started together is what the program has become and there was nothing like it in Orange before. There's a reason that Dan did not lightly pass the torch. If you want to get down to it, Ronnie Anderson was arguably as big a loss to football as he was for the baseball program. You see what has happened to the Mustang Baseball program since his departure.

You can shout big words all day and it doesn't make you any more intelligent or right. Embarrassing an individual kid by calling them out specifically is entirely different than calling out the team or a section of the team. Picking on one player is wrong for a reason that ipso facto does not apply to a "group" of players. Perhaps it is [i]your[/i] willful ignorance that is the problem. 1) Why is it inherently bad for a coach to publicly critique a specific high school athlete for their play in a particular game?
2) What specifically did Cornell say on the radio that you found offensive?
3) Who did he specifically identify?
4) Who in the past got upset about a similar circumstance and how was the circumstance similar?

I submit that his legend speaks for itself and is of national prominence, and guess what? he started his legendary career in ORANGE TEXAS, where you said no one had ever achieved anything remotely similar to what Dan & Steve & Cornell had(paraphrasing of course, would`n want to put words in your mouth). perhaps he wasn`t a "REAL MAN" like Cornell, Steve, & Dan, or maybe he was only 3/5 of a man. Let me answer this post for you. what happened at Wallace was a long time ago, we`re talking about "RECENT HISTORY" how am i doing so far???? it`s been 10 yrs since wo-s played for & 24yrs since they won a championship. I`ll assume you`re a Dallas fan, when you brag about Dallas, do you only mention their most recent dreadful playoff record, or do you brag on their entire history, including ALL of their Super bowls (I DO) once again, either you`re willfully ignornant, biased against anyone or anything that doesn`t fit your WORLDVIEW, or you`re incapable of acknowdledging the TRUTH.

Truth be told, some of you need to totally support the Mustangs by going watch the Little Mustangs football team. You will see this is where these great WO-S players are developed and guess what, they are coached by ex Mustang players who should have be given a chance to coach the High School team. These kids are dominating people and you don't see Thompson or any of the other coaches out there supporting these kids. By the time these high school coaches get these players, they are already developed as players. The credit needs to go to these Little league coaches who develop these players and don't get a pay check.

NOW, whenever you`re trying to determine the validity of an action it never has anything to do with the number of people involved, whether it`s the person comitting the act or the person that the act is comitted to! I`ll make it real simple for you so you can GET the point!
EXample 1. The UIL has determined that it is against the rules to play academically ineligible players, players that don`t live in the proper school zone etc... in the early 90`s WO-S had ONE player determined to be academically ineligible and had to forfeit several games and was disqualified for the playoffs, even though they would have been districts champs. that involved one player!
Example 2. a few years ago Katy was one or two games away from playing for the state championship, a parent fed the whole team, the UIL determined that was a violation and they were kicked out of the playoffs.
here is the point, and it doesn`t matter if it`s an individual, an organization, or what. IF IT`S WRONG TO DO SOMETHING, THEN IT`S WRONG TO DO IT, WHETHER IT`S DONE TO ONE PERSON OR A MILLION PEOPLE. whether you`re talking about how we treat each other in the community (manners, etiquette etc...) or following the rules of some governmental agency. the number of people involved is IRRELEVANT!!!!
here`s something i think we all can agree on:for example it would be wrong to put an innocent man to death, because it`s wrong, not because of how many peolple were involved. Orange texas had a proud history of producing great high school football players who went on to play professional football, long before Dan Hooks & Cornell thompson showed up and it`l continue after they`re gone. I know the history at least as well if not better than you. What Steve, Dan, and Cornell started together is what the program has become and there was nothing like it in Orange before. There's a reason that Dan did not lightly pass the torch. If you want to get down to it, Ronnie Anderson was arguably as big a loss to football as he was for the baseball program. You see what has happened to the Mustang Baseball program since his departure.

Embarrassing an individual kid by calling them out specifically is entirely different than calling out the team or a section of the team. have you ever heard of "coach" Willie Ray Smith ?? who happens to have a yearly award named after him, of which several wo-s players have been the recepient. I submit that his legend speaks for itself and is of national prominence, and guess what? he started his legendary career in ORANGE TEXAS, where you said no one had ever achieved anything remotely similar to what Dan & Steve & Cornell had(paraphrasing of course, would`n want to put words in your mouth). perhaps he wasn`t a "REAL MAN" like Cornell, Steve, & Dan, or maybe he was only 3/5 of a man. How about Wallace High School ?? where coach Smith coached them to back to back state championships. the high school that all the citizens of Orange were proud of and bragged about to their friends and family throughout the area and the state, where the crowds would be standing room only on many occassions.How about Ernie Ladd, Garland Boyette, Charles Johnson, just to name a few football legends from ORANGE TEXAS who went on to play in the NFL. the building is still standing, just as the LEGEND STILL STANDS, unless the boundaries of Orange Texas changed since last night, then everything i just mentioned happened in Orange and the people who made the accomplishments did it as CITIZENS of ORANGE TEXAS!!!! without ANY help from DAN ,STEVE, or CORNELL!!!!!! perhaps you`ve heard of Andre Robertson, the first black to play baseball at UT& he went on to be a star outfielder for the NY YANKEES, ask Roderick(who i`m sure you`ve heard of) who was the better football player him or Andre. You are correct, the Greater Orange area has a rich football history that did not start with WO-S.  But they sure have continued it, and Cornel Thompson is a huge part of that continuing legacy.  If you refuse to acknowledge that, you are either not the historian you profess to be or you have some sort of agenda.

Surely it wasn't because they were themselves a product of the program right? Yeah, I suppose Coach T had zero impact on all those former Mustangs you are referencing. Pretty sure the varsity coaches are working 7 days a week very little time to go out on Sat. and watch the little guys. Wish yall much luck and keep up the good work I think coaches realize yall are helping.  Thanks again for your hard work and dedication.
