BHFan should be with me. If I can get Liltex to finally take off that purple and put on some blue, maybe him too. ;) Wanna hear all about Crosby RED and Gander Maroon game.

gary-us-bonds Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Posted September 27, 2011 I didn't go to the Crosby-Lee game.I don't think I would make a good game watching buddy. lolI'll be the guy off by myself at the top of Stallworth on the Barbers Hill side if I decide to go.As far as this video, I go every few weeks and do a search for "Baytown" and then arrange by upload date, just in case someone uploads something like this.Would love to watch an old Lee game on there, but I haven't ran into one yet.
Steven Avery Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 can anoyne list the years of the head coaches at Sterling?I read something that said Hess was only here in 71. I am guessing Dennis was there from 72- ? Then you had Stafford 87-91?, Manley 92-97, Gandy ? Terrebone, ???, Minyard 04-10, Aduddell 2011

(Dennis may have coached the 1972 team. It's heck to get old.)Sterling has had 12 coaches in 44 years. When Dennis retired form coaching in '83 Bill Bundy took over the program. Then Stafford. Danny Long had a one year stint after Terrebone. I believe he brought Minyard with him.

Hess left after the 71' season and Big Al led us to the finals in 72', quarterfinals in 73' and 74', and regionals in 75'. The worst heartbreak loss I ever experienced was losing to PNG at Lamar's Stadium in 74'. I think they won the state championship in 75'. I have always had great respect for PNG and their quality football and community. I still want to win one against them. I am hoping for a 1st round playoff rematch of last year with BH coming out on top. That is when I will feel like our program has arrived. Might even buy a t-shirt if we win. ;D
gary-us-bonds Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Posted September 28, 2011 Big Al was my junior high principal ;)

Coach Kudla was here from '66-'71Al Dennis went into administration in 1983 as the Director of Food Services for GCCISD. I think he just wanted to go into Admin. (Something alot of coaches do.) He was one of the finest persons/coaches I have known. I would have run through a wall for that man.I know he has since retired from BHISD. Can't remember if he was Principal or Superintendent.

gary-us-bonds Posted September 30, 2011 Author Report Posted September 30, 2011 No one else will find this interesting, but right around the 45:40 mark in the video you can hear the PA announcer talking about how Pittsburgh just scored with 5 seconds left to go up on Oakland 13-7 in what we now know as the immaculate reception game.
