I am a huge Cardinal fan, but Silsbee has dominated the series.  You have to give dibbs when they are due.  I tell, I played in the 83 and 84 games.  Silsbee was ranked in the 83 season and we were having a sorry year.  They beat us by 3 but boy it was a heck of a game.  Then the next year we thought we had them was driving late in the 4th quarter and got down to the one..........then we fumbled the dern ball on a snap and lost 13-12....LOL.  (rolling eyes) but Silsbee has just had a great program over there.  I think it will be a great game this year.....hopefully BC can make it two in a row but we will see.

The 77 team was one of the best for Silsbee. BC came in to Silsbee(i believe) and won by a point. It was tough lose but it worked out OK.

Nope, that game was at BC. Tough loss indeed. In fact, William Graham fielded a punt with just seconds left on the clock and almost returned it for a game winning TD. Last BC defender(punter) tripped up Graham after diving and reaching for his feet. Graham almost kept his balance but fell at the Cardinal 15 yard line. Game over.

I hope Silsbee adds to their win column this week. This has to be one of BC's best teams in a few years. Would love to leave Bridge City with a W. What year was it that BC had that great running back in the 60's i think? He went on to play at Texas and in the NFL.

'65 and '66. Steve Worster. BC was state finalists in '65, state champs in '66. In fact, in that '66 year, other than BC losing to Nederland (their only loss for that season) Silsbee was the closest anyone came to beating BC the rest of that year. 21-14 score. BC won title game by 4 TD's.

Yes, indeed, BC has had a couple of players reach the NFL, but there is no player more revered than Steve Worster at Bridge City.
