Well, I've got to say I figured it would be a lot closer than the 36-14 score, (LCM's last score came in "garbage time" with liberal substitution on the Pirate defense).  Bears just couldn't handle Vidor's big plays in the running game.  Bollinger still in the walking boot on the sideline, but David Smallwood showed up big with probably his best game of the season.

They threw it a a couple of times when penalties had them looking at 2nd and 3rd and 20-25 yards to go.  Threw it once when receiver was just so wide open, then missed it when they tried it again.
Way too many penalties for the Pirates tonight, almost 100 yards, with some costly 15 yard drive killers.

I know a lotta people say this but i can tell you that 7 out of the penalties were ghost chop blocks and all but one of those chop blocks came on plays where we gained more than 20 yards. Not saying that the refs were bad revs or anything but some real questionable calls IMO

Other than that we looked great today. LCM had a good first drive but after that our defense figured them out and totally stopped everything they were doing. I mean three pics and a safety. That's pretty impressive. And David Smallwood really stepped it up tonight. Great game pirates. Now lets get Central next week.  8)

Yeah, one official especially seemed awfully eager to throw his flag.  I know of one, the interference on the uncatchable ball that was overruled and they picked up another one, I think it was his too.

Yeah and two of those chop blocks were from him. Can you believe they called a chop block on Jonboy Smith. The guy is freak 6'3 or more. He couldn't chop block if he wanted to.

Yep , If he continues to run with that type of intensity then Vidors 4 headed monster is complete and dangerous . I can't take anything away from that defense though ( Lights Out Performance ) . I still think that some teams in this area are disregarding this Vidor football team because of their margins of victory against mutual opponents may not be as much . Vidor is not that type of team though . They are not going to run up the score too much . They would rather rest their starters to keep them from being injured and give the second team some valuble experience . Can't wait until Bolinger is back

Same here man lol. Its gonna be crazy once Bolinger gets back there. Stevenson is a great player and all but anyone who knows Vidor well enough knows the Bolinger is the heart of that team. You could see him coaching the players tonight during timeouts and congratulating them after a TD and screaming and everything. He will be explosive when he comes back next week. And as for the defense IMO they are as good as Nederland's defense. I mean putting up the same numbers and everything. I mean 3 pics against LCM tonight says enough. Great job Defense.  8)

Yes he will be. Reminds me of David his sophomore year. Got moved up for LCM and scored his first TD in the playoff game against Dayton.

I know Jeff Mathews well and he doesn't believe in running up the score. We had enough of that crud happen to us in our past. We don't need to lower ourselves.....

Every team except one loses in the playoffs each year. I don't see this comment as slanderous against another person, it's merely an opinion of what will possibly happen b/c Vidor rely's on the run so much.with that said, I have to agree. Not many one dimensional teams make it very far in the playoffs these days.
