Although, to be fair, Bum Phillips didn't want to show partiality towards either school. Besides, who cares? Ned and PN-G both benefited from the visit.

Not trying to side with Bandkid, but Bum doesn't have a ring from Nederland.  He lost the title game 3-0 at Bulldog Stadium in the pouring rain in 1956.  Emmitt McKenzie was the coach in 1957 when they won it all.

Which is about as relevant as the last one you guys won in the 70s...both have been a very long time ago...alot of folks on this board weren't even born when either team won their last state title
