Knoddy1 Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Vidor has not won a State Championship nor have they ever played in the championship game.

If it isn't this year, it really doesn't mean squat. This IS high school, after all.[/quote]Vidor got beat in the semi finals that year by San Marcos.Score was tied 20 to 20 I believe and the tie breaker back then was penatrations. We lost 3 to 2. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

This was before overtime and tie games in the playoffs were decided on penetrations first, then first downs, then total yardage. Vidor had them on the other 2. San Marcos went on to play Palestine in the title game and the Bill Bradley led Wildcats defeated the Rattlers for Palestine's only state title.
Purple Runs Deep Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Oh ok...had me scartch'n my head for a sec... ???
cornhusker Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 invictus Vidor might have won state in calf roping but not in football little buddy.

Don't expect coaches kneeling and running the clock at the end of games, because every point will count these last few weeks.
liltex Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Boom ya nailed it Mac.Ozen coulda if da woulda but kneeled near da goal when they were killing Liv D w/315 rush yds on 45 carries. If they'd turned it over Liv would have had seconds to go the length of da field w/no timeouts and a gassed qb.
Razor Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 to me, what you mentioned right there at the end is one of Livingston's problems...Collins is a great player, but he does so much on offense in that scheme and then he plays some D as well, he doesn't have much left at the end of games...kid is a phenomenal athlete, but I think he is overused a bit

I've yet to witness Vidor beating a Mid-county team on the road. I almost got to see it in Ned this year, hopefully Vidor can pull of a big win at the Rez. Good luck to both teams...RIP 28
