Devonte Mays (The Bull) Livingston Out for Season

Livingston Big Back (The Bull ) is out for the season, what do you think about their chances? IMO I believe they have enough quality running backs to go 2 rounds or maybe 3.

Devonte Mays can't be replaced, great player, team leader, and person, but Collins will keep this team going along with White. I hope they play the other Collins kid at runnning back more now. This kid will shine next year but can do it this year, if played more.

Still a good team, but not the same. It was and still is all about matchups in the playoffs. If it ends up DI Ned, Vidor and DII Liv, PNG which is how it looks now, then you guys avoid BH. BH defense would give you guys fits without the Bull.  Round two could be Willis and I don't see you guys beating Willis with or without the Bull. Gotta be able to throw against a team like Willis and lets face it, Livingston has no passing game with or without Mays. And none of us will get past the 24-4A. Manvel is like a college team! and Lamarque is, well Lamarque.

Livingston needs to find a way to get the QB some rest during the game.  Against Nederland he was unstoppable in the first half, but ran out of gas in the 2nd.  He never comes off the field the whole game.

Maybe Collins taking a few series off on defense every now and then would help him later in games.

Sounds like Montana Quirante for Vidor @ QB and linebacker.  This year it seems like more players starting on offense & defense in 20-4A.  I know all three of Vidor's QB's are starting on defense.

With an offense that features 4 very good backs, the loss of one that averages almost 10 yards per carry will be missed.  They will still be good, but Bull Mayes yardage will be missed.  They'll still have a good showing in the playoffs, though.

Magnolia West is far from a layup game!  They are legit...  The Mustangs are 6-1 this year, with a big win over Montgomery.  Their lone loss is to Brenham...

BTW, if Livingston is the D2 #2 seed & not the #1 seed, they really get an easy 2nd round opponent!  Brenham...  ::)

[/quote]I've seen Willis and they will not get pass the 1st round against anyone in 20-4A or 19-4A, not even Dayton. So that's no problem.

I don't see Livingston being a D2 #2 even with a Vidor loss. They still beat PNG head-up. Let's be honest, Brenham Fan wants PNG anyway. With that being said it is a tough road for PNG, cause they will face BH 1st round before Brenham. Good luck with that road.

[/quote]I agree, there are some other things that could help this team, and that is if they put Barnes back at middle linebacker where he was the starter last year. They are still punishing the kid for speaking out in film session(2 games), and the kid they have in his position can't do the job. Also they can put Barnes, who is only 10 pounds lighter than Mays back in the backfield where he was a starter last year, we'll just have to wait and see how long this thing with him plays out.

We're not. We've looking to secure our playoff spot with a win this week against Central. We're just looking at Livingston as a second place win and maybe an easier road in the playoffs win.
