In WOS's first ever game (1977) after West Orange and Stark High schools merged, the Mustangs lost to Houston Strake Jesuit 3-0. It is the only time these two teams ever played.

Correction. WOS played New Braunfels in the state semifinals in 1986. WOS won 28-12. WOS won state championship that year.

Correct. Best records locally are West Brook 5-5 and French who went 4-5 against WOS.


WOS is 1-3 against LaMarque, 0-2 against CE King.

1-3 against LaMarque is correct.We are also 1-3 against CE King.Won in 1987 and lost three in a row from 1989-1991.

WO-S in 1989 should have beat C.E King as LC-M tied them 0-0. There wasn't over-time back then.

If the Mustang's were a little stronger in the secondary that year they would have won state IMHO.
