If their in the districts SETXsports covers, then they should be included in the rankings.  JMO

2) Draw a radius, such as 75 or 100 miles around Beaumont, or
3) use major highways and borders (TX coastline for south, LA state line for east, hwy 190 for north, then 59 & 610 east loop to I-10)

Beaumont is clearly regarded as the metro center of Southeast Texas. It is the population center, and by far the media center of this region. Geographically, it is also the rough center of the area football districts.

I don't know what your point is about the owner residing in Jasper, but its irrelevant as to the [i]focus[/i] of this board. Todd runs it, and he lives in Katy TX. Does that mean we should include west Houston too?

What is the logic for excluding LaPorte, given we include Lovelady, Coldspring, etc.?

Beaumont is clearly regarded as the metro center of Southeast Texas. It is the population center, and by far the media center of this region. Geographically, it is also the rough center of the area football districts.

The answer is quite simple, viewership.  Coldspring and the other 22-3A schools have been under the SETX umbrella as from the very beginning of the site we have had large participation from them.  We garnered a large crowd for the East Texas schools in Southeast Texas due to our former site, Eastexsports.com. 

We don't have that level of participation from the 21-5A schools on the outskirts of Houston although La Porte has shown an uptick in their participation and I wouldn't be surprised if they, and even possibly Channelview, get included under the umbrella next year. 

Unfortunately, the expansion is sometimes slow, but it does occur.  It wasn't until 2 years ago that the Baytown schools and Crosby were considered in the SETX coverage area (and many a poster still argue to this day that they shouldn't be).  So be patient, they'll likely join the ranks next year.

Of course I was joking, it was just an illustration to AAW that an owners (or moderators) place of residence, regardless if its Jasper, Katy, or even New York City does not correlate with the subject matter at hand. LOL!

Do you want me to dial up another bi-district loss for your Eagles?  As you have seen the last few years I am fully capable of doing that!!!  In fact, I don't know that I have allowed your Eagles to advance past the bi-district rounds in several years.
