Texantagonise Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 We don't need no stinkin' rules.
badndn Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I smell sour Indiana Grapes! Love Pats response..."He's my freakin Dad!" Would it be illegal if Roy Williams Pop spoke with UNC recruits?
AggiesAreWe Posted October 19, 2011 Author Report Posted October 19, 2011 Pat Knight's response:http://blog.beaumontenterprise.com/inthecards/2011/10/18/pat-knight-responds-to-report/
puddin tane Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 well, if only coaches can recruit..how bout the campus visits where players and girls show recruits around? you think they arent "recruiting"or when NFL players talk to kids about "their" college?this is pretty bush league...tell em to stick it, Pat
Titletown2 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Another reason why the NCAA should be abolished! They're freakin unbelievable! >:(
ForeverADog Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Its a secondary violation at worse and nothing should come of it. But still silly of all the NCAA rules. But with technology advancing its hard to regulate and enforce. I know Rick Barnes got in trouble because he had Kevin Durant on campus who was just using the facilites to train when a couple players came and shot around with him. That was a violation. Just stupid. But bottom line, Pat at most gets a slap on the wrist.
KDOSullivan Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 It is people in Indiana with too much time on their hands....It was on the news on Dallas radio this afternoon.
ForeverADog Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Quote from Coach Knight today, "I blame peyton manning for this. If he was healthy, people in Indianapolis would still be covering football and not worrying Lamar." Love it.

geezer Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 I understand Coach Knights feelings about what seems like a silly rule, but he is probably doing himself and Lamar a diservice by making light of it. This is one of those things that one should simply say I'm sorry, it was a rule I didn't know or remember and it will not happen again. That is what makes a story like this go away, which is what needs to happen right now.
smith Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 He may not want it to go away. It's a minor infraction that's getting press across the country.
coachacola Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 As the old saying goes, bad publicity is better than none. Besides, the punishment can't be near as bad as Coach Roc's self-imposed 3 year ban of going to the SLC tourney. ;D
