Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 That throws 19-4A into chaos yet?

BHFAN Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 I can't beleive these two went on a scoring rampage ;D ;D That North Forest loss is going to haunt Lee :-\ Can't wait to see the box score on this one
Guest UHCoog14 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Kid from Lee scored 9 TD's. Baytown Sun:Fight, fight, fight was REL head coach Marvin Sedberry’s rallying call to his players, and that’s exactly what they did as Nate Scott’s nine touchdowns led the Robert E. Lee Ganders (2-3) to a 63-55 shootout win over visiting C. E. King (1-4) Thursday night at Stallworth Stadium.
gary-us-bonds Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 I think the Sun may have gotten that one wrong.Maybe it meant Scott led them to 9 td's?The Chronicle has the first half scoring plays up and Richardson scored twice on runs, Landry caught a couple long td's and Gomez caught one.Who wrote that for the Sun anyways? Fight, fight, fight immediately makes me think of Sterling's fight song. While I agree that losing to NF is not the best of things, I don't think that Lee should have necessarily beaten them i they both played to their best capabilities. Maybe NF is just right there with Lee or slightly better than Lee. I don't think it's that far out of the realm of possibilities that NF would beat Lee 5 times if they played ten.NF was only down to BH 7-0 with less than a minute to play in the first half before BH scored with 23 seconds in the half to go up 14-0. That's a heck of a lot better than Lee did against BH.Lee still has a pretty clear road to the playoffs actually if they win their remaining games.I would call it about a 50/50 shot if Lee wins out they make the playoffs.Someone has to lose between Crosby and GCM tonight right?Whoever that someone is will have two losses. Lee has three losses. If Crosby wins, Lee controls their own destiny at that point unless some weird three way tie happens. If GCM wins, then Lee just needs Crosby to lose to either Dayton or Barbers Hill. And again avoid the dreaded three way tie that included Dayton.Lee would have wins over Crosby and GCM assuming Lee wins out, so the more I think about it, I would put it at 75/25 Lee makes the playoffs if they win out. They don't quite control their own destiny, but almost. If Lee and Dayton both win out, then Lee is in.You may be asking yourself, how does a team that lost to North Forest win out? Therein lies the rub.

There is no scenario where they win tonight and do not make the playoffs. because here we go:If Lee wins out they are 4-3. If Crosby wins tonight and (just for hypothetical) lose last two we are 4-3. GCM loses tonight and then loses to BH they are 3-3...but IF LEE WINS OUT GCM is 3-4 and out of playoffs...Lee is in, Crosby is in. If GCM loses tonight and beats Lee in same scenario, Crosby is in and GCM is in.
BH eagle 99 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 I would really like to see lee or nf make the playoffs. That might be the spark the fan base needs and the communties might get more involved with the football games
gary-us-bonds Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 I don't think so.Lee was just in the playoffs year before last.No spark then, no spark now. Maybe if they were actually GOOD. Let's say 8-2, rolling into the playoffs. Maybe....Win a game in the playoffs, then maybe the rest of Baytown would jump on board. No sneaking in at 5-5 though. What if Crosby wins tonight, then loses out to finish 4-3. What if GCM beats BH and loses to Lee to finish 4-3. Lee wins out to finish 4-3. Dayton loses a game let's say. They also finish 4-3.BH is in. Then you have Dayton, Crosby, Lee and GCM all sitting there at 4-3.I don't think Crosby mathematically ensures themselves a playoff spot tonight. I don't think you are digging deep enough into the scenarios.Any number of teams could end up at 4-3 and tied with Crosby and other teams. It gets kinda sketchy with three and four way ties.
Guest Cap Rock Brewing Co. Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 On multiple tiebreakers it goes to points. Crosby is -1 to Lee. Lee is -7 to Dayton.Dayton is -18 (max) to GCM, but (+7) to Lee. So Dayton is at -11. Lee is -7 to Dayton, +1 to Crosby.GCM and Lee haven't played. Crosby and Dayton haven't played. Crosby is sitting pretty in those scenarios with only a 1 pt loss at this point. If 4 teams are tied for last 3 spots, Crosby would be one of those teams.
bh89-2 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 It's far easier to say Dayton sucks. ;D ;D

gary-us-bonds Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Let's assume then that Dayton beats Crosby by 18 and Crosby beats GCM by only 1.Lee beats GCM by 10Lee would be plus 3Dayton plus 7GCM plus 7Crosby -16Then what?

I agree with smokin baby but he needed to add GCM in that phrase, too ;D
Guest UHCoog14 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Don't bother with all this "higher level math" fellas. GCM is going to win out and solve all of this for y'all.
Mr. E Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 in the words of the late Al Davis "just win baby"

But that scenario (a 4 way-tie of 4-3 teams) would put Crosby on the outside looking in, but 1) Lee would also have to beat GP.2) GCM would have to beat BH. 3) Dayton would have to lose to King or NF. 1 is a possibility. 2 is unlikely but possible. 3 is also unlikely as well.
gary-us-bonds Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Yeah, but you said it was a lock that Crosby will make the playoffs if they won tonight. ;)Never be certain until it's a mathematical impossibility that they won't make it.
