I can't figure out how Nederland could not possibly get a playoff spot even if they were to lose their final 2 games.

So even if Nederland would have lost out (which would mean them losing to Ozen and Ozen having the head to head tiebreaker) and Ozen won out, they would still have a better record than Ozen. The Ozen loss would have put them 2 games behind Vidor with 2 to play. So even Vidor if were to lose out and Ozen win out, Vidor in a tie with Ozen would still have the tiebreaker and would get the final spot. With Ozen winning, that leaves them 2 behind Nederland with 2 to play with an undetermined head to head tiebreaker and only 1 game behind Vidor, so neither Nederland nor Vidor can clinch this week.

Indianforever Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 how bout them panthers...PNG needs to win out and for Vidor to beat Livingston and we get that #1 seed in division 2

badndn Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 If it ended today.Ned 5-0Vid 4-1Liv 3-2 +14 (PNG) -1 (Ozen) = +13PNG 3-2 +18 (Ozen) -14 (Liv) = +4Ozen 3-2 +1 (Liv) -18 (PNG) = -17So Livingston in in the three way tie breaker. Then its head to head PNG Ozen = PNG in.Lots could happen next week.

Here is how I believe it works out:If Vidor wins OR Ozen loses next week, Vidor gets a spot.If Nederland wins OR PN-G loses OR Livingston loses, Nederland gets a spot.If Livingston wins AND PN-G loses AND Ozen loses, Livingston gets a spot.If PN-G wins AND Livingston wins AND Ozen loses, then, they can get a spot.

jake94 Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 I hate to break yalls hearts, but it ain't 5 teams fighting for 4 spots. It is 4 teams fighting for 3 spots. Nederland is IN. The worst they can finish is 5-2 in a 5 way tie for 1st place. In that scenario, the worst point differential they could have would be a +2 and that would assume an 18 point loss to Ozen. (+3 vs. Png, +3 vs. Vidor, +14 vs. Livingston, and assuming a -18 vs. Ozen = +2.) Even if Ozen wins out and beats Ned by 18 points, the best they finish is -6. (-18 vs png, -7 vs. Vidor, +1 vs. Livingston, and assuming +18 vs. Ned=-6)In any other scenario, including Vidor winning out and being district champs if Ned loses out, there would be a team out of those 5 with 3 losses, thus putting Big Ned in the playoffs since the worst they cAn finish is 5-2. Anyone see it any differently?
Tim Riggins Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Nederland is in, no doubt about that, worst they can do is 5-2, only suspense then would be DC and seeding.

If they split, that means that either Livingston or PN-G will have a 4-3 record. So Nederland is in.
