puddin tane Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011
just walked into the deer lease cabin and my dad was watching "The Proposal". I thought about killing him, but i would've felt too bad about it.
the proposal? had to google that one..hmmm...next time pops wants a Sandra Bullock movie, get him The Blindside!
bullets13 Posted November 24, 2011 Author Report Posted November 24, 2011 my dad missed a 3-point this morning. guess he was paying the price for watching that movie last night...
BearBryant Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 My youngest son got a 8pt opening morning and then a doe a few days ago. It is eating my oldest alive that little brother is ahead.
bullets13 Posted November 27, 2011 Author Report Posted November 27, 2011 had about 10 hogs come into my feeder right at dark. i hit one, but it was tough to tell what i was hitting, and they ran 10 different directions, so i didn't even know where to start tracking. no big loss, i suppose.
TallinaBoyz Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 I nor my dad have seen any deer in like the last five days or so. Where are they? Smh..
ST413 Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 My almost 300 pics under my feeder in a week before seasom is noe down to 2 pics last week. I have another cam on the other side of my stand that I will check after hunting.
rip2506 Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I had two good pics of two deer I have been wanting to kill if I was lucky.. it has gone from quantity to quality. This camera is in a firelane nowhere near a feeder.. just some hand thrown corn.. one pick was just before 8am and the other just before 5pm both on the 19th
ST413 Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 looks like they may be starting to come back to the feeders. Anyone else noticing that in se tx?
rip2506 Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 My friend saw one more effort of two bucks trying to breed does Sunday morning north of Jasper.Went yesterday and it was hard hunting for me. My cameras had only does (night pics) and one illegal buck (daytime)... not much inspiration there.
ST413 Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 My cams had a few more pics one legal buck and a few small ones and does. Doesn't out seem in that area that every year after weekend the does disappear until after thanksgiving?

I was traveling the eastex corrider hwy 96 thru Jasper to Center to 59 to Texarkana early Friday morning and between 8:30 and 9:30 I saw a dozen deer mostly does. Then on the way home Sunday evening around 4:30pm.. I saw over 20 from Marshall to San Augustine mostly if not all does standing in groups of 6 or better in open fields just grazing... it was crazy I was texting my friends .... are you hunting are you hunting I am seeing tons of deer out feeding in the fields and a few right up next to the free way. We have Lamps permits so no does seen that evening.
tvc184 Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Most of the bucks are on their beds and smoking a cigarette.
westend1 Posted December 24, 2011 Report Posted December 24, 2011 Finally got an axis.http://s955.photobucket.com/albums/ae31/lock2040/?action=view¤t=P1010364.jpg
tvc184 Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 When do the Axis steaks to on the grill?
BearBryant Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 Have gotten a 14" 7 point and a doe so far. The 7pt would have been a nice 8pt or 9pt but one of his main beams was broken. Leaving for Rock Springs in the morning. After that will be back at my home lease on Saturday to finish up here and get ready for youth season. Its been a tough year because of the drought but I have had a blast.
puddin tane Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 usually ya bragon this board...i gotta vent..30 minutes in, i shot a doe..then for the next 84 hunting hours i saw didly squat..this season sucked for me!
ST413 Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 Heck, I wish I would have gotten the doe!
bullets13 Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 i shot a hog during bow season, and a doe and a hog during gun season. saw a couple of nice bucks, but couldn't get a shot off. making one last ditch effort at my buddy's lease with black powder saturday morning.
Texasminuteman Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 Im used to getting 3 or 4 deer a year. This year I didnt get anything. This is the first time in 13 years I didnt get something. :-[. Between the drought and a bunch of oilfield activity, the deer moved on to greener, more quiet pastures.
westend1 Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 Headed back out west for one last hunt. Haven't seen a shooter buck all year. Not sure what happened as all the deer seem pretty healthy. I think all the exotics have run off a lot of our whitetail.
thetragichippy Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 My buddy got a game camera for Christmas and set this up last night and got this. He lives in the city limits of Lumberton on Village Creek....
