Guilty........all of my kids were raised on PNG football and yes we brought them to games that we did not have a sitter available to watch them.  They slept the whole game.  Does that make me a bad parent nah I don't think so.  It doesn't make you a bad parent either for wanting to keep your kids home.  We all are free to raise our kids how we see fit.

Because babysitters that are trustworthy are easy to find on a Friday night.  My father has gone to every Vidor game, home and away, since the 60s (minus when he was drafted into Vietnam).  I've attended enough in my lifetime, even at 0-10.  So, at this point, with small children, it may be better for me to be at home with them.  I'm not a homer and am not particularly fond of the city of Vidor itself.  I'm actually not fond of this whole area, anyway.  I am a Vidor graduate and that's as far as it goes. 

And it is true, I do hate PNG.  It goes far beyond football, though.

This game is starting to take on a "Rival" atmosphere...but not quiet up there with MCM yet...dont know if its because its Homecoming or maybe that we have a very worthy opponent coming....but if there ever was a rivalry between our 2 teams...Vidors gonna have to change colors...a person can only stomach so much black and gold!

I know what you mean!  As a fan (of any team) it's awesome to look around and see the older generation and the younger generation (young as in under 10) all dressed up and excited for Friday Night Football!!  My 2 little ones look forward to Friday night's and putting all of their Pirate stuff on!

I agree with both of you.  I work with a couple of people from PNG and we pick with each other during the week but by all means we laugh about it.  However, some people have taken it way beyond the point of picking.  Vidor has been the one picked on for many, many years so we know how it feels and yes, it gets old very quickly. 

As far as tomorrow goes, it is going to be a great game and I know both teams will bring everything they have to the field and I don't think anybody would expect anything less.

True...I believe the colors were changed to Black and Gold in 1956, The year after my parents graduated. My Dads Letterman jacket is Purple and Gold.
