[/quote]Huh? What game did you see? I remember Ozen play Central twice during the summer @ Smith Middle and Odom Middle Schools in tournaments They didn't beat Ozen the two times I was there.

I'm just curious which other polls you are referring to? I haven't seen any polls. Of course that doesn't mean they don't exist. I know Nederland has looked good so far this Fall in the Houston tourneys which they played in. They beat Central this summer as well. All 3 of those teams (Ozen, Central, Nederland) could finish in any order 1st-3rd.

I saw them go undefeated in the Silsbee summer tourney, beat Ozen and PAM (in the finals) to go undefeated in the tourney. They were clearly the best team out of the 24 teams at this tourney.

I also saw them play a few other times over the summer.

It is noted that Ozen played without Trey Green the whole summer.

I don't think being the 3rd best is what Coach E is striving to accomplish this season. A taste of the playoffs a few years ago may have been okay, but now they expect to win. Not in an arrogant way, but  in a way of confidence. This group of kids are not accustomed to losing. Since Ned added another big man this summer, they will be fighting for the district title again, not 3rd place.  ;)

Anyone know the last time Central beat Ozen? Don't think they've beaten them very many times since they dropped to 4A. Maybe Soulja knows? I know he's done w/Jag FB for the year, so maybe he can do some research on this topic?

We used to beat Ozen all the time.  That is untill Perkins came on the scene.  We've lost to hem every time since then untill the 2009-2010 season.  We split the series.  We did it again in the 2010-2011 season, splitting the series.  This year, we're going for the season split.

Wow! Ask, and u shall receive from Soulja-appreciate the info! I wouldn't be surprised with a split between Central & Ozen as well.

No starters return, but Weisbrod and English played as much as the starters. Weisbrod started a few games last year, and English started about 10-12 games. Anyone who watched these kids play last season (and this summer) know that Nederland will be tough again this year to beat. Their 1st game will be a great measuring stick w/ST. Pius coming
to town. Another good match up will be the Monday before Thanksgiving at HJ.

Houston St. Pius X. They are ranked 15th in the preseason poll for (Big) Private Schools. They have two D1 commits.
