I would put Austin Walter as the Offensive MVP just because of his stats.

Newcomb and Walker have an almost identical avg yds per carry (7.65 (Newcomb) to 7.04 (Walker) ). Walker has more yards simply by having nearly twice as many attempts (169 to 93).

Very good point. I didn't even look at the attempts and yards per carry or TD's. Wow. I take back my pick. I'll definitely go with Newcomb now.

I think the Walker twins are deserving of some recognition for their achievements, that's why they both should be co-newcomers of the year (IMO).

I talk a load of crap, but I think I can  identify talent.

(as painful as it may be sometimes.)

That MVP question is a hard one.  Two cases I guess could be made.

Denny -BH QB (team would really suffer without him)

44-GCM - He is the bulk of that offense, if they make playoffs.

Lee's QB If they make playoffs.

Maybe even Dayton's kicker Curranco (however you spell it).

Mvp would have to be kaleeb denny I would also vote bh most dave campbells army strong team of the year and at least 18 kids that I have seen should be all district. Oh yeah and most improved football facility if there is such a thing although visitor parking sux and I had to listen to that inspiring chant of we can will for what seemed like an eternity.

Wimberly is GCM's workhorse. I would be ok with him as the MVP. His numbers are down mainly because he did not play the 2nd half in some games. They would get #33 some carries and a change of pace.

I think Denny is a year away. He runs the offense very well.  He will be a monster in 2 yrs.

Visitor parking sux at BH ?  As opposed to Dayton ?  Wow !  In Dayton, we usually have to park at the walgreens 2 blocks away. Don't get me wrong, It is a nice new parking lot at the walgreens...

I don't know 7.09 yards a carry in a spread run offense vs. 7.50 in a Option offense.

Take 2 things into account there.

1) if the play is going to go for negative yards, then in an option offense the QB is going to absorb the losses, while in the spread run offense the Back has to take those losses.
2) BH has a much better offensive line than the Cougars, also the Cougars line has been beat up all year.
3) most of the Carries that BH has are to the outside, while the majority of the cougars runs are directly off tackle or to the inside.

Also 1100 yards and 12 tds is pretty darn impressive, that TD total could be much higher but the cougars tend to throw passes for 20 yards after running for 65. Also Aston tends to touchdown vulture Austin because everyone is so intent on stopping Austin.

The MVP vote for Austin Walter is a solid Vote. Just saying. But lets see how this Bh Crosby game goes. If Austin runs for 50-100 yards then the vote is clearly not his.

IF he goes for 100 yds against BH's 1st defense. I'll gladly change my "vote".

I think you'll see on Friday that BH will gash you between the tackles too. It's just not Newcomb doing the gashing.

[/quote]I like Tyler for offensive MVP. He has the most carries thus the most yardage for us also. However,  Wade Duke has over a 7 ypc avg. also. Wade has been our big play in the clutch specialist, winning the Ned game with a touchdown in overtime, and the Dayton game with 22 seconds remaining. Probably our most versatile player on offense. Just wanted to give him some consideration. In any event, Newcomb is very deserving of any post season accolades he receives. And I do believe Tyler can play at the next level if he so chooses. Clay McDonald was also a district 1st team fullback last year and is doing a great job for us this yr. as well.
Our whole defense should get the MVP but I would say that Reuter is the heart and soul. He should play D1 next yr. IMHO. Go BH!
