Huh?

That's what I am trying to figure out. Mike Friedman on his sportscast tonight at 6pm stated that there was some allegations of spying on practices. He was kind of vague about it and I could not determine if he meant that someone was spying on Kelly or that Kelly was spying on someone else.

He did state that he hoped to have more on the 10pm newscast.

Although I don't see what Kelly could be spying on they have clinched a district title and their first playoff as far as I know is an el paso team I don't think they would send someone all the way to el paso even if they wanted to spy. Which I don't see Kelly wanting to do anyway. I think it would maybe be Houston Christian spying on Kelly as I believe if they win this game on Friday they are in the playoffs.

Heard it had something to do with sending people to watch St. Thomas practicing...??? Don't know if this is true, but if it is...look out :o
If this is true it makes no sense we already had the district crown and we didn't even play all of our starters against Thomas.

NOT playing starters must explain the 34-7 loss kelly took going into the playoffs.we will see if resting starters & taking a loss will send them on a playoff run????
Well playin starters and taking a win this week will build some momentum up.

here is the true story.  The administrators of this site know who I am and can verify that I would know the truth.  Early last week, one of the Kelly parents was in Houston on business and for reasons unknown to the rest of us decided to stop by St. Thomas and watch practice.  Someone from their staff noticed him and since they did not recognize him sent someone over to inquire who he was.  Not realizing that he was doing anything wrong, he gave his name and said he was from Kelly.  NO coach had any knowledge that this man was going to this practice.  Kelly had already clinched the district title prior to this game.  We had already beaten Thomas the first time we played them.  The main goal for this game was to get some injured players some rest.  That's the story.  There is nothing else.  Someone from St. Thomas has obviously leaked this to the TV station.  I would hope that in this situation, you will see Kelly as a member of the Southeast Texas community and give them your support.

I believe this to be true. Thanks for posting.

BUT!!!!!!!! St. Thomas does have a case here. As far as they should be concerned, this was spying. Kelly coaches and admins can deny it all they want but it doesn't change the fact that a "Kelly" person observed a St. Thomas practice. I imagine there has been many cases of spying where someone was sent but not claimed by the spying team. Again, I don't believe this to be the case, but it would be very difficult to explain before a TAPPS board. It would also be very hard for a TAPPS board to explain to St. Thomas that Kelly did nothing wrong.

I personally believe nothing should come of it but if St. Thomas was to continue to pursue any kind of action, you cannot blame them.

    • naw, maaaaybe 7, definitely not 8 deep.  today im avoiding sitting by #10s parents, had to move away yesterday.   "put my son back in jub, put my son back in"  and then crying on every little touch of someone.    lets ball out today ktz!
    • Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McNeese this Friday night at 6pm.
    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
