I would if "it" bad calls against Orange County teams didn't happen EVERY year. As for as the Bears, they had a though season and things didn't go their way a lot. Hope for a great off-season and better luck next year.

C'mon big red. You seem to be too intelligent of a guy to make a blanket statement like that. Hooks was probably the best at working the refs. I know, here comes all the WOS faithful, but Hooks was way out on the field a lot. Whether he got all the calls or not, he sure put forth an effort. Well, maybe just that one..... ;D

If you are talking about the holding call, I did not see it, but it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Then, when you curse the refs on the field, you are going to get multiple flags.
Actually one of the reasons Hooks won some games...because he could intimidate the refs....Gotta hand it to him, he knew what he was doing....

If Ned would have left the starters in after a 21-0 lead 2 plays into the 3 rd and really hammered lcm we would be hearing about how unsportsmanlike running up the score was. You watch enough football you're gonna see officiating calls you don't agree with. Grow up and deal with it or become an official so you can right all the wrongs you've been dealt over the years. Orange county officials called this game so spew venom at them if you need to vent. The call you question was a non issue in this game. Of course another option is to improve your program. Lack of success isn't always someone els'es fault.

Read, I'm not talking about last night. Is Lucky Gamble the current Head Coach at LC-M? No. What call do you think I'm questioning?

Grow up? You're the one that needs to read a post completely before making a post with no idea what game I'm talking about.

Calls come and go both ways.  As they say it is the way the ball falls. If you really feel that one call cost yall the game last night you need to come back to reality. It was against the complete second team defense with 3 players that were pulled up from jv. Think in my opinion that if the BAD DOGS would have stayed in 7 points would have been all yall would have gotten, I'm sure you saw what happened when they got put back in shut down. If your talking about a call years ago let it go. I can say the same a few years back when Worell Grogan touch the ball 3 first plays and scored touch downs of 74,68, and 81 but they called the 81 back for a mysterious hold.( Think ref felt sorry for LCM defense). So lets all look forward to the future and good luck to Hayden Reed in track as if he needs it lol.

Again, this is a common theme for you guys from Nederland. I'm not talking about last nights game.

Hooks was a great coach and was a players coach. He'd do anything for those guys. I guess that is why WO-S has a winning record against just about everyone in SE Texas.

All this is in regards to refs has you have implied that the touchdown called back last night was directly related to the out come of the game some how. Is that what you are implying? I also realize that you are talking about a call years ago. Every team has them go for and against. We have had our far share of them both good and bad.

So why are you complaining or discussing it on this thread following last nights game. Start a new post if you do not want us Mid County people to recieve it that way.
You're right it is probably confusing and if no one else makes a post I'll drop the issue as it wasn't regarding last nights game.

It's cool .I think yall have a good team of atheletes. I think there is a underlying issue maybe coaches or something.
Well when your coach is dumb enough to bump his fat belly up against a ref 4 times as he is walking beside him cursing him out, hes got issues. He is lucky he wasnt thrown out. Its one thing to argue with a ref, but to take it to a physical level is a whole new level. And the crew was an Orange County Crew! But you are right, Nederland still paid them off because last nights game was such a meaningful game. Which is why we had JV players in on defense in the third quarter.. sheesh  ::)

I was hoping this was over. I even congratulated you guys and wished you success in the playoffs and now 27 has to make this post. I don't know why because I already stated if someone is cussing a refs the flags will be thrown. This is the first I've ever heard of our Head Coach losing control of his emotions and making things physicial. If he did indeed do that he should have been thrown out of the game.

Are you bragging about your first out-right district title since 1965? You may want to check out LC-M as we were outright district champs in the mid 90's.  ;)

Never bragged about anything or mentioned anything about the District Championship. Glad to have it but my post was in reference to what you kept on saying about the Orange County Officiating Crew. Guess your own people cant see! You are welcome to come support the Dogs Friday night at Lamar. If you get there early enough you might be able to snag a seat.

Nederland Bulldogs - A Tradition of Excellence = not bragging?

27, the game I was in reference to was a game several years ago at Nederland with Beaumont officials. Fact! Sorry you can't get that through your head. I've stated it several times now it wasn't last nights game I was referring to.

Good luck in the playoffs starting Friday at Lamar. I doubt I have to worry about a seat in the 16,000 seat Provost Umphrey Stadium.

Since you keep mentioning that you are griping about 10-15 years ago or whenever this happened, start another thread and stay on topic on this one.

    • You got a LOT more than that, you’ve got Riceland filling up. GCM is dropping down from 23-6A back down to 5A in ‘26.  GCCISD is redrawing attendance zones to make sure of that.  At the same time, BH was only about 100 students under the 6A threshold last time UIL drew districts so BH is definitely going up to 6A when those maps get redrawn, probably right into the empty spot in 23-6A GCM is leaving when they drop down.
    • Like I said, even if it’s only 10% of the 100 kids BHISD takes from GCCISD each year, that’s 10 athletes per year and that’s being generous.  You’re right about the jobs with BHISD, BTW.  There’s more than 1 athlete from Baytown originally who got transferred to BHISD after a job opened up for Mama.

    • It’s behind a paywall but here’s Baytown Sun’s story on it.  It was reported on in other papers statewide so if you search by the date I think you’ll find other stories on it. UIL strengthens student transfer rules By Ron McDowell [email protected] Oct 18, 2024   In order to maintain a level playing field for all member schools, the University Interscholastic League strengthened rules regarding transfer student eligibility at its most recent meeting in Austin. Every year thousands of students transfer schools in the state of Texas. A student’s ability to participate in UIL sanctioned activities may be limited base on the reasons for the transfer. A change in family status, work transfers, enrollment in an academic magnet program, or a move across town, receive scrutiny, but only rarely does one of these reasons result in the loss of eligibility. The only reason to automatically cause the loss of participation eligibility is a transfer for athletic purposes. The current rule, which has been in place since 1981, does not require a Previous Athletic Participation Form (PAPFs) to be submitted if the student-athlete does not participate in a varsity level sport during the first year of enrollment. There has been growing concern among some member schools, that other members are breaking the current rule and creating “super teams” with new transfer enrollees, and that the UIL is not doing enough to police, what appear to be, the inordinate number of transfers among high school athletes. To mitigate these concerns, the UIL approved a proposal to expand the power of the State Executive Committee (SEC) and allow it to investigate schools based upon the number of PAPFs submitted. Schools that submit an inordinate number of PAPFs would face heightened scrutiny and possible public reprimand and future sanctions. The UIL has also changed the requirements for PAPF submission, mandating that the form be submitted before a grade 9-12 transfer student may participate at any level of school athletics. This is a marked departure from the current policy which encourages schools not to complete PAPFs for students who transfer in, if the school believes that the student will not play a varsity sport in the first year the student is enrolled at the new school. Some critics of the current system think that the change doesn’t go far enough. Speaking on background, one local school district source suggested that there should be an automatic year wait for transfer students due to the number of loopholes in the waiver process. “If a student transfers, it should be a year out of competition automatically,” the source said. In addition, the UIL also approved a proposal that gives the SEC the power to appoint an independent administrator to oversee the conduct of the local District Executive Committee (DEC) if it is determined that the DEC is not consistently enforcing the rules of the governing body. The change is significant since all appeals that a school brings, starts and usually ends with the DEC. That includes the determination of transfer student eligibility. It is believed that with the implementation of this change, schools in a UIL district will be less likely to face retribution from the DEC chair and other members. The policy changes will go into effect, Aug. 1, 2025 This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up
    • I was hoping WOS was going to win. To get another chance to redeem ourself. Silsbee did not look good in that game and has not played consistent during the season. Hopefully against La Vega they will play 4quarters of football
