How are they looking for this upcoming season? Deep playoff run?
IMO, best team in Southeast Texas.

Now, will that translate to success and a deep playoff run? Well, that remains to be seen.

Soulja, you know what I am talking about. ;)

By the way Central play, they will go as far as K.Smith takes them.. Ball is in his hands for every crucial play
True.  Very true.  I'm anxious to see in what areas Smith have improved on.  We all know he can hit to 3 ball and he's a high flyer finishing above the rim.  I want to know about that midrange game and defense.
sOULJA1, please do not make these comments in public. The coaches may see and add some extra arsenal to his game. If this kid adds a mid range game to his game, watch out 4-A. But you didn't hear this from me ;)
I have a question. If he's playing football, I wonder if he has had the time to really work on his game and improve?
Well, It's bee a few weeks since I've seen him.  I'm thinking he probably quit after he realized that we were not going to the playoffs vs. Vidor, which was 2 weeks ago.  If this is the case, he should have had ample time to practice and get ready for the season.
I'm sure he have.  I can't confirm it either.  I don't see why not.  He  has good speed, good height for a guard (6'1") explosive at the rim.  what may hold him back is his dribbles.  He tends to go back to the right hand, but he finishes with either hand.
I've only seen him play this past summer a few times but he has potential. 6'1'? I thouht he was at least 6"3' . Well he has no control on the height issue but he certainly has control on improving his handles. Best of luck to the young man, except for two games ;)

I dont' know.  It's hard to judge his height.  Maybe he's grown.  I thought he was 6' or 6'1" ish.
I'm sure you are correct. I was sitting in the nose bleed section when I saw him against Ozen (just remembered this game) and this summer.

What else does Central have? Did they lose much to graduation? I remember they were quick last year, but don't remember any 'Bigs'. I know their JV team was good last year too.

K. Smith has been talked about, wondering what other talent they have? Obviously he can't do it all himself. Anyone have a roster or an idea who will start for them? Maybe some names, position, height?
Abe, it won't matter for Nederland ::) Saw Central during summer. Central got some some top area Freshmen to enroll this year. Will be competitive for years to come. Nederland? I've seen your JV. Hopefully those 8th graders will help yall out in a couple of years. ;)

Ha! You funny!  ;D ;D ;D

Just haven't heard any other names from Central other than K. Smith, and I'm not 'nervous' about ONE player unless his initials are MJ!

Other players from last year's team are:

Robert Mitchell (Junior)
Malec Fruge
Joseph Allen (graduated)
Craig Ferguson
Cody Bertrand
Markel Frelow (graduated)
Dorasheo Thorton

You are looking waaaay too deep into this one, Dove. The topic is Central Jaguar Basketball, right? There has been talk about Kristian Smith and that's it, so I did a bit of research-not that hard to do-and provided some names. The reason you do not have to look up anyone from 'my team' is because 5on5, dogs1218, #1 manager, EZDAWG, and myself have provided you (and others) with players names, etc. from 'my team' for the past 5-6 months. I'm trying to stay on topic here, and I don't see what is wrong with that!

Anyway, this Central Jaguar team was up and down last year. They lost to WB early by a lot, then a few weeks later, they returned the favor.
Ozen beat Central in the 1st game of district, then Central beat Ozen at home about 6 weeks later. Central also lost two district games to Nederland, and one more to LCM. Signs of a young team with their inconsistency.
I see this team finishing anywhere from 1st-3rd in district and winning two playoff games (depending on their bracket).

K. Smith is a good player. I just hope for his sake and the sake of the Jaguars that he has matured mentally basketball wise. I had the opportunity to watch him play some this summer and I wish him and the Jags the best. Hoping that he will be an even greater asset to the Jags this year.
