Since my team had a very unfortunate and unexpected end to their season, these are the teams that I am pulling for in the playoffs.
Vidor, Ozen, Coldspring, Newton, and Dayton's kicker.
What no Huffman? Still bitter about the "unexpected" loss?
I was pulling for Huffman in the 1st round because 21-3A thinks that they are God's gift to football. The 2nd round for Huffman will be very difficult. I hope you guys win, but I just don't see it happening so there was no reason to list them. But hey what I know? I predicted a Liberty win over Huffman and Cleveland so obviously I know nothing about football.

And VP32, I have seen Vidor play twice this season, once early on and then again against Crosby. I am very impressed with the way they play football. Hard hitting defense, straight ground and pound offense. Who says you need a 5 WR flashy offense, and 11 Deion Sanders on defense. Very disciplined, controlled themselves against after the play nonsense against Crosby, won with class.

I'll be following the game online. I had to choose between the Coldspring game and the Huffman game, and I chose Coldspring. Good luck to the Trojans and the Falcons, I guess we can agree on one thing. 22-3A > 21-3A.

Yes they did. And they keep getting underestimated. I love it.  :)

Huffman is never expected to win. Honestly all year long, all we have heard is Huffman has no chance, its a rebuilding season, they wont make the playoffs and here they are right back in the same spot as last year. Two totally different teams if you are comparing last years to this years. Navasota is a very impressive football team. IF Huffman puts 20 plus points on the board, game over Huffman wins! Huffman D can not have a down game here on out.
BTW my voice is just now getting back to normal from that gut wrenching affair with Silsbee! GR8GR8GR8 job Huffman fans and BAND members! You guys were incredible and we will need a repeat performance against Navasota! You guys rocked it all night! THANK YOU!

What ABOUT PAM? Have a really good shot of going deep
That's true.  they have the chance of going the farthest of all SETX teams, especially seeing Coldspring stumble somewhat to Bridge City.
hhhmmmm did Coldspring stumble.... or did BC coaching staff do their homework and prepare the team and game plan that stumped Coldsprings team and coaches..... or was Bridge City just under estimated...
I have no idea.  I wasn't there.  I do know that Coldspring have been puttin gup ridiculous numbers all year and Bridge City came in and gave them probably their first real game of the season.  I have to say that Coldspring stumbled, becuase if Bridge City raised their level of play that much, they would have wond the district title with little or no friction.

2 things. Yes, BC was underrated and the almighty Trojans were overrated.

Huffman gave them a pretty dang good game. We gave up less rushing yards and score more points than bc did, heck some of the coldspring fans will even tell you we probably shoulda score a couple of tds if it wasn't for dropped td passes, but oh well. Coldspring is a great team and the only thing that will stop them is coldspring.

And no offence to Pam, but they will only go until they meet katy. I really don't think anybody will stop them this year. They are on a different level.

Here's to hoping that question will get answered on the field...

That's a great question with about three different answers, LOL. Here I go....first part of season? Maybe. Middle? Nope. Now? Yep. But like I've always said, its the playoffs. Records and regular season doesn't really matter. look at Bwood last year, or on the opposite, Carthage last year. Everyone crowned Brownwood in the middle of the season only lose a game that they shouldn't have. Then you had Carthage, which was still good, not turn to many peoples heads and thought their run of the past few years was done. Then they win it all....again. That's why I don't make predictions in the playoffs. You NEVER know what team will just outmatch your style of play.

It's just the first round and Vidor had trouble with Crosby...each week the competition not only gets harder but the depth of each team becomes more athletic.  It's not, well this team has 1 or 2 studs to watch out for, it's the whole defense and offense you have to game plan for.  Eg. Lake Travis, Brenham etc etc.  Vidor won't win unless they throw.  Period.

Then they won't win? They are in the 2nd round without throwing so far. Euless Trinity, 5A played for a state title last year and very good this year, 3500 rushing yards, less than 1000 passing. Yeah you are right if you don't throw you lose, lol.

    • It’s behind a paywall but here’s Baytown Sun’s story on it.  It was reported on in other papers statewide so if you search by the date I think you’ll find other stories on it. UIL strengthens student transfer rules By Ron McDowell [email protected] Oct 18, 2024   In order to maintain a level playing field for all member schools, the University Interscholastic League strengthened rules regarding transfer student eligibility at its most recent meeting in Austin. Every year thousands of students transfer schools in the state of Texas. A student’s ability to participate in UIL sanctioned activities may be limited base on the reasons for the transfer. A change in family status, work transfers, enrollment in an academic magnet program, or a move across town, receive scrutiny, but only rarely does one of these reasons result in the loss of eligibility. The only reason to automatically cause the loss of participation eligibility is a transfer for athletic purposes. The current rule, which has been in place since 1981, does not require a Previous Athletic Participation Form (PAPFs) to be submitted if the student-athlete does not participate in a varsity level sport during the first year of enrollment. There has been growing concern among some member schools, that other members are breaking the current rule and creating “super teams” with new transfer enrollees, and that the UIL is not doing enough to police, what appear to be, the inordinate number of transfers among high school athletes. To mitigate these concerns, the UIL approved a proposal to expand the power of the State Executive Committee (SEC) and allow it to investigate schools based upon the number of PAPFs submitted. Schools that submit an inordinate number of PAPFs would face heightened scrutiny and possible public reprimand and future sanctions. The UIL has also changed the requirements for PAPF submission, mandating that the form be submitted before a grade 9-12 transfer student may participate at any level of school athletics. This is a marked departure from the current policy which encourages schools not to complete PAPFs for students who transfer in, if the school believes that the student will not play a varsity sport in the first year the student is enrolled at the new school. Some critics of the current system think that the change doesn’t go far enough. Speaking on background, one local school district source suggested that there should be an automatic year wait for transfer students due to the number of loopholes in the waiver process. “If a student transfers, it should be a year out of competition automatically,” the source said. In addition, the UIL also approved a proposal that gives the SEC the power to appoint an independent administrator to oversee the conduct of the local District Executive Committee (DEC) if it is determined that the DEC is not consistently enforcing the rules of the governing body. The change is significant since all appeals that a school brings, starts and usually ends with the DEC. That includes the determination of transfer student eligibility. It is believed that with the implementation of this change, schools in a UIL district will be less likely to face retribution from the DEC chair and other members. The policy changes will go into effect, Aug. 1, 2025 This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up
    • I was hoping WOS was going to win. To get another chance to redeem ourself. Silsbee did not look good in that game and has not played consistent during the season. Hopefully against La Vega they will play 4quarters of football
