ndn4eva Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Nelson sets the record for yards in a game with 210 yards and ties the record for TD's in a game with 3.
HDcats0422 Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I was at the game, this kid kept getting behind DB's all game. On the interception in the endzone at the end of the game, he was easily 5 yards behind the CB but the safety made a good play on the ball.
liltex Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Congrads on a exc.season as well.Certainly a All-SETX team nominee.Good luck w/your college fb future ;)
NDNation Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Im in awe of this young man...it wasn't about catching the ball...It was how he caught it! Gonna miss watching him play!
bronco pride Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Best player on the field saturday that kid was a beast. I dont think anyone could guard this kid heads up. Suprised at how fast he was and ran great routes. Has he had any college interest and if so who
PN-G bamatex Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Rumor has it that he's getting noticed by Lamar and Sam Houston, but he and his parents aren't giving out much information. I personally think he could go DI. Nelson has a way of making near-impossible catches.
dayton Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Great performance. It's crazy when you know what's coming and the kids still gets open.... and some of those catches were TOUGH. Glad we got something figured out during the second half. Good luck in the future Jayce.
BrenhamFan Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 On a bright note, Nelson has an extra month to get ready baseball season now.... ;) ;DHe's great at both sports!

Getting some or all of your education paid for, even more awesome. Good luck to him!
latinladym Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 He should totally go to a D1 school, he would be a perfect asset to any football program but it would be good to see him at a D1 school. ;D ;D
ndn4eva Posted November 15, 2011 Author Report Posted November 15, 2011 He has all the records at PNG except for 2.

badndn Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 6'1" and could go 200 lbs in a D1 weight program with legit 4.5 flat speed and a knack for making plays. Great hand eye, fights for the ball and usually wins, super route runner and blocks down field with the best of them. Not sure what folks are waiting on? If he ends up at Lamar...They got a steal!

I agree with badndn...a few lb's and he's Big12/SEC material....bold statement I know, but you just dont make some of those acrobatic catches he did without being special.

They let players such as Brennen Doty , Gonzales from LCM, Lunsford the lineman from PNG and many many others just to name a few leave from this area without even recruiting them. My question is what lucky program will benefit from him playing for the next 4 years for them. Any word on who has shown interest in Jace. The young man has a huge upside to him. I have watched him play in every game in his high school career and havent seen anyone even when he is double teamed stop him yet. Faircloth in my opinion didnt throw to him enough.
latinladym Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 the next Shipley i agree....i can't wait to see him on Saturday afternoons!!! ;) ;)
PNG4LIFE91 Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 I talked with his Dad before the Dayton game and he said so far Lamar and SE Louisiana have offered scholarships I believe but of course he's waiting for more. It would be a shame if a big 12 or SEC school doesn't snatch him up!

latinladym Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 hopefully he will get more offers to D1 school.... ;) ;)
magic Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 look I know you love your guy and that's great. Please get on Rivals or Scout and look at the size speed and highlight tapes of receivers who have committed to SEC schools. I hope that he has a chance to play college football so you can continue to follow him. Just not sure why you have to go to such extremes. I know it is going to shock you, but being an outstanding player for PNG does not mean that you are one of the best in the country. You are doing the young man a diservice by making such statements.

[/quote]I'm a realist. I have posted on here before that I think he could play and produce at a high level in the CUSA or MWC. Is he a Big 12 or SEC talent? Could be. He has skills comprable to Jaxson Shipley, but he doesnt have the hype Shipley had due to his brother. I think he would be a great fit at UH or SMU the way they throw the ball.I also know that PNG does not produce big time D1 talent year in and year out, but the past two years we have seen a couple of special players in Doty and Nelson. Doty is now at Oregon. He may never see the field, but he has impressed on scout team as a red shirt fish according to the Ducks staff. He is another one I thought would have excelled at UH, SMU or even La Tech.
bronco pride Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 This is coming from dayton and I have seen alot of playoff games in the last 5 years and this kid was easily one of the top 5 I have seen. I could definitely see him playing d1 if given the chance. Now is he a parade all american like aj dugat was for dayton no but he is a very talented receiver.
