They have what I call suburban kids with a suburban game.
daddy23 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Vidor was missing a couple of players that are still playing football (and hope we are missing them for weeks to come). We are also without a potential starter (for non-football reasons), but we may be without him all year.Vidor suited up 8 boys last night. 4 of them were Sophomores. 2 of the Sophomores started last night. Our other 3 starters last night were Juniors. Things will get mixed up as the season wears on, but we are a very young team. We only have 1 Senior.I thought that HF looked quite good last night. I thought that Vidor played much better in the 2nd half. I hope that the improvement will continue for the Pirates in the weeks to come. Congrats to HF on a Clear and Convincing victory last night!
Dove- For someone who is very conversant with racism, that last comment might make you look a little hypocritical.
Actually, THE WORD "SUBURBAN' is my code word I use for all the AAU kids who are spoiled (have personal trainers, free gym time, invites to free camps, etc) and brought up in areas other than the hood. I would guess that 80-85% of the kids I know in Houston are "suburban kids." Most of the them with African ancestry. St. Pius has two kids whom I consider " suburbs."
BLUEDOVE3 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Oh yeah, St. Pius is still into their football playoffs...hmmmm?
Baller 93 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 That doesnt matter, St. Pius and St. Thomas arent like Kelly. They have just basketball kids. They focus on Basketball over Football. I was talkng with a St.Pius parent last night and he said they have only 2 kids playing football right now, both kids dont even start!

Missing 3 players from football. Not to mention that 1 of their cards broke his hand 2 weeks ago. Not many teams are at full strength just yet.
forum Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 St. Pius was not very good. The point guard did a lot of juking, but never went anywhere. They had some big guys, but none of them could score. Nederland played a 1-2-2, but really squezed the middle since St. Pius put someone running from elbow to elbow. This left their wings open for 3's after one pass. Rarely did they attempt a 3, and didn't make the ones they attempted. St. Pius pressed Nederland, but Nederland was too quick and broke it every time. Ball went to the middle, and they ran the floor. Weisbrod's FG percentage MUST go up.

St Ps point guard is highly ranked in the houston area. He is very quick, but he does not have a good shot.
stevenash Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Well said about Weisbrod. I happen to believe he is one of the better posts in the area if not the best. However, once he tries to make his one on one move from the perimeter( and I felt he did that too much), it seems like he loses his awareness of his teammates

Would not start in a Houston public school
diego cruz Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 #4 FOR ST.PIUS ARE 2 VERY GOOD PLAYERS.ANY GOOD COACH WOULD WELCOME THEM AS STARTERS IN HOUSTON OR BMT. AREA.NOT SURE IF THEY ARE HOOD KIDS OR SUBURBAN CATHOLIC KIDS, EITHER WAY THEY ARE TOP NOTCH PLAYERS.THE SUBURBAN KID/ HOOD KID PHILOSOPHY IS A JOKE.
