I've seen several local high school basketball teams this year and it seems to me many of these teams are very young. Are there any local teams with mostly seniors & juniors on their teams? Just curious.

I dont know about anybody else, but the Vidor team took the floor this week with zero minutes of experience on the varsity level.  At times there were 3 sophs on the floor.  One senior who played JV last year.  When football is over they will get exactly one player with varsity experience and he is a junior.  Gonna be a tough year for those Pirates, being so young and all.  Its a shame, too.  The new head coach is very good and the team will be competitive but we do expect some blow-outs along the way as we mature.  Now, if we could just get teams to quit pressing in the 4th quarter when they have a 30 point lead........

As you know, Dove, Nederland is young. Starting line up is:

Senior
Jr
Jr
Jr
Soph

Bench players:
3 Seniors
4 Jrs
1 Soph

Good observation on your part (for once)-ha!  ;)
Seems to be a lot of young teams in the area.

With so many young teams in the area, we may see more unexpected close games such as last night in the Lumberton/PAM game.
Good point.

That's just crazy! Where are all the senior players in the area?
My whole point to this thread.

I realize that. I just figured that there was ONE team in the area with a large number of Seniors.
Scary, you and I are thinking along the same area of space. I thought at least one team in the area would be loaded with seniors.

Dove you should know who HF has returning but here they are anyway:

Starters
Broussard  Sr
Malveaux  Sr
Carmon  Sr
Brown  Jr
Riley  Jr

Subs
Smith  Jr
Friedeu  Sr
Brooks  Sr
Appling  Jr
Thewman  Soph

and if it weren't for two transfers you probably would have seen a soph and a fresh in the starting lineup.  I hear they are decent players that could have helped the Longhorns to their STATE CHAMPIONSHIP  ;D
