As a fan! I seen the visibly shaken and emotional after the Wildcats lost to Rust last week. I learned the struggling within the realization the players was not going to be playing football again with the seniors that the young group came to built such tight relationships with during short high school career. The team fought with everything they had and was noticeably distraught knowing this and how upset that the seniors were knowing this was, in most cases, there last high school game and that they gave it everything they had.

The players did not want the season to end, but they gave it our all. To all our seniors, it was an honor to watch ya play and the underclassmen too. You guys have been great leaders and shown me what it takes. I know you guys had to rely on on each other and the coaching staff to excel in a tuff season, but knowing that you prepare yourself for next year an plan on helping to lead the Wildcats football program to a great season next year.

Only a short few will win a championship and most kids will not get to experience the opportunity to even participate in a playoff game. The seniors on our team exhibited the type of leadership that is infectious and I am lucky to get the great opportunity to learn from them about the commitment, desire, dedication, and teamwork required to make positive change in culture of a football program.

My realization is that this experience is more than just wins and losses, but more about the lessons that develop character and leadership in young men and our kids.

This is how a new class of leaders are born. ;D
