Why do they march to the initial of their mascot? :-\

Can't they spell png? 8)
Can't y'all do more than lines, diagonals and the letter 'N'? ;) ;D

HEY!  I happen to LOVE the lines and diagonals.  IMO, that omeba looking stuff that most bands do these days, (Including PNG) is NOT marching.  It's just moving around until you eventually find where you're supposed to be, then stand there and play until the song is over.  I miss the Illinois entry and Texas turn!  I wish more bands MARCHED like Ned and Vidor!

It's also a lot easier, which is part of the reason military bands rarely get past Area.

Ouch! Coming from a fellow PNG guy, that has to make bamakid's gut hurt.

Have to admit though, the marching I brings me back to the 70's when I watched my cousin in the Dome and Texas Stadium. Good memories.

Is it a made up word?  I cannot find a meaning anywhere.
Maybe.  OK,  let's try ameba,  ahmeebah,  oh here it is... amoeba!

Give me a break,  I went to PNG.  BUT, at least I know the difference between to, too, and two.... unlike 80% of the posters on here.

Probably so, but for me, I'd rather watch those shapes form and evolve by a block-style band.  I just never got the wavy lines things that bands do these days.  I mean,  they could be doing it all wrong and no one would have a clue, because they don't really form anything recognizable.  Now, as far as sound goes,  I haven't found any band that sounds better than PNG's.
And my son will be one of those wavy lines next yr. too.  :)

What the hell is that supposed to mean?  My grammar and spelling are not flawless, but they are pretty close.

I know what an amoeba is.  We were talking about "Rock-a-noo."

What's really a shame is that we leveled the mounds to build our refineries. Port Neches would've been a national park....
Not all of them. There was one in Port Neches Park that was excavated I think in the 80s.

history is sort of a hobby of mine....there may still be another in the area.  However, I would like to have seen those. I understand people use to take the train from Beaumont down there to collect arrowheads, etc. We just didn't know about preserving our heritage in those days.

Same here. Anything from the Civil War on is in my purview.

Port Neches was the only camp site for the Indians in Jefferson County. We were taught in elementary school about the Attakapa and Karankawa tribes that lived there, and that's where I remember the story about the mound excavation from.

Yes it does, and Block did a great job of cataloging a lot of it.
