Finally cold air for Hunting

I see its going to be good and cold this weekend in west Texas. About time, Maybe this will get the deer moving some. I was in Menard during Thanksgiving week and the deer where hardley moving at all. It was hot and windy not a good combo for the hunter.

We have plenty of time left for hunting on JWCC. I took an 8 point this morning at 7:50 16 5/8" spread Dressed out 113lbs Not a big deer but nice rack 20 1/2 " one side and 18 1/2 " on the other side. Can you believe it had fresh fiber on his horns.?.? Still rubbing. This is the first time I have pulled the trigger since Thanksgiving '04 I can smell the links now

I have a 3 day hunt planned in January in Sabinal, TX on a bow only ranch. I have a friend that has gone there for the last 4 years and has scored each time with at least a 135+ point buck. I have my fingers crossed.

What date in January? If it's early Jan and your south of Sabinal you may still have a few bucks chasing some does. Only problem with January is that you may have a lot of broken tines - but still a great time to hunt.
