With such a young team I expected growing pains. If Weisbrod wasn't in the post than that is a crying shame. He is one of the smoothest post players you will see at this level. Great second half HJ and best of luck on the season.[/quote]No telling how many putbacks he might have missed out on by being on the perimeter. It also takes pressure OFF the defense when they see him at the top of the key. If he were down low more, I believe that the oppositions concern with that fact would open up some more threes for teammates.
ForeverADog Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 He was on the block all year last season. I wonder why the change... But I trust Coach English and he'll get it figured out and we will be much improved by district.

If you use a method that is successful, you are not about to depart from it because somebody else advocates something that SEEMS more sophisticated or has more intellectual appeal. At the high school level, I would be equally if not more concerned with the mental conditioning as opposed to the physical.

stevenash Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 I am going to the HJ staff today and attempt to impress upon them that they are not doing enough basketball specific conditioning and that the current, outmoded approach should be abandoned immediately. There is no telling where Mr. Prudhomme could be right now if he had trained properly.
