What Silsbee lacks in size they make up for in speed and quickness. This is easily the smallest team height wise (no player over '6"3, only two '6"2 or better) in the last several years but may be the fastest and quickest team that the Tigers have had in several years. Only two seniors on the squad (Gaines a starter, Turner a reserve), the rest juniors and soph.

Silsbee will need to shoot the three ball much better and everyone will need to help out on the boards.

Also look for Silsbee to get help from the transfer from Irving McArthur, who is now playing JV ball for Silsbee until he is ruled eligible to play varsity. This young man is very good and will bring definite help to the Tiger team. He is no JV player, that's for sure. ;)

This will be a fun team to watch this year but could be subject to some trouble with a team that has size and can handle the rock.

Time will tell.

Tigers definitely need to shoot the long ball better than tonight and need to get better on the boards.  The good thing on the long ball was they were better the first twon games.  Tonights game reminded me more of the Kelly game although the score isn't to indicative of it.  It was sloppy overall and a lot of missed opportunities on the offensive side.

Yes, #20 on JV is the transfer from Irving McArthur. He did score 38 in the JV game.

Like I said, he is no JV player, will play and probably start on varsity as soon as he is ruled eligible.

When will the transfer be able to play Varsity Ball?
[/quote]

Good question.

Spoke to Coach Sigler and he said should be soon, hopefully by the next week or two.

I think I know his dad! Aggie I can promise you he will average 20 ppg on varsity and fit on the offense nicely! HJ and Silsbee should be a huge show down in Jamuary! Nice job HJ on your transfer. He is a good one too!

I think the rule states 15 days from enrollment until he is eligible. If he lives in the school district. If not, its a calender year, I think.
