We were being bad on another thread and got it locked with due warning; sorry boys. So what do you think. Playoff football this weekend or deer hunting? I personally wouldn't miss the Dogs game Saturday to shoot Bullwinkle J Moose but I've shot lots of deer. I may not have a chance to see another district 20-4A as strong as this year's in maybe my lifetime. What do the rest of you guys think?

Gonna be wet/nasty-give me football, besides w/recent rains the woods have re-bounded w/green eatin and deer have left the corn alone for the past week @my feeder. You'll find em though near a thicket sneeking out to graze. There are some acorns but smaller than yrs past.Find them and you'll probably have some luck.

Go with your gut...................I couldn't pass on a deer hunt last weekend. It was free and at a high fence ranch ($7500 a gun for a weekend) but I had that feelin that I would see a 3rd round game. My meat is being processed as we speak so I had a win / win weekend.  ;D ;D ;D First game I have missed in 5 yrs  ;)

Yeah I'm sitting here unharassed because the warden is spending Thanksgiving with my outlaws up north in kentucky. That gives me time to think about things :). I've missed a lot of good deer hunting on account of football and vice-versa. Sooner or later one of those pretty smart scientist guys are going to invent a way to make horn implants for deer. Any deer you shoot can be sent to a vet (post-mortem would be best) and have his horns blown up as big as you want them. This just stands to reason because some of the things men love most have become just that easy.(All this thinking was enhanced by the thread about the teacher and a few holiday libations.) That won't ever replace football and will make it easier for us to see more games. And you'll only have to shoot one deer. I would still shoot more than one deer but I guess that I would lose the desire to shoot more than I really needed. Similar concerns were a problem when I was young just like all you guys. Nothing can ever replace high school football. You can enjoy that sport once or twice a week till you are at least 110 unlike some things in life. I hope to see lots of you at the game or games this weekend. Those deer won't go anywhere in the next several weeks.

I don't have the luxury of being wealthy or knowing wealthy people that will pay my cover.  I am happy just being blessed enough to get to shoot white-tail.  Maybe one day God's will may include me hunting Big Game.

Screw deer hunting!!

Duck hunting in the AM, playoff football at night!!
[/quote]

I know right, you see whole flocks of deer and only a few ducks here and there.  That's the beauty of hunting deer.  You might or might not see one while you are in your stand.  After days of waiting and being patient, BAM, one walks out and takes your breath away.  Duck hunting?  I can get the same enjoyment shooting clay pigeons.  Plus, duck don't even come close to how good deer tastes.
