mytwocents-28 Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Noticed there wasn't much activity on this side of the forum so i thought i would start it out. So tell me who is the team to watch out for girls wise in 4A in this area?
Riding Solo Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Ozen is the clear favorite, Central and livingston will battle for 2 and 3 then it is wide open for the 4th playoff spot. The other teams will have a hard time beating the top 3.
mytwocents-28 Posted November 24, 2011 Author Report Posted November 24, 2011 I have a feeling that Vidor might just sneak peak into the top 3. You never know with a player like Allison Jacks. She is looking a lot better than she was last year and she's got a year of varsity experience in her now. Remember she was only a freshman last year and she has Casey Jones Sr. and Blair Richmond Jr. (who made the all stars team).
dimlaws Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Ozen will be tough to beat this year. Of course BH is always good, and I hear manvel has a good team but very young. They are lead by a sophomore and a freshman. From what i understand, they are not very good at the guard position. That will hurt them against BH or ozen.
Riding Solo Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Yes, I do think that vidor will compete but it depends on if players can stay out of foul trouble. They don't have a lot of depth or size.

Riding Solo Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 vp32 don't put much stock in vidor beating Orangefield. I do think it is a awesome win for vidor though. Some parents have turned the kids against the coach at Orangefield. It is really sad to watch how parents are destroying not only the girls program but also the boys. A good coach will win with less talent and sometime if he does not win with talent it is not always the coaches fault. When parents decide to put the "TEAM" first infront of their own child then the wins will come until then expect more "L's". Just because you won at the junior high level does not translate into wins at the high school level. It can if you are willing to put in the work to get better. Have not seen that yet.
hjhawks Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 1. Ozen2. BH3. Central4. Livingston - (lost a heck of a lot to graduation and a pretty good coach)Right now, every one else is pretty far behind these 4... Anything can happen on a given night though!

Buddy09 Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Ozen is the best team followed by BH and Dayton. Vidor should battle Central for the #2 spot in 20-4A.
whattheheck Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Hill just a nudge.... you noticed who EVERYONE is looking past. Still think they will have a say before it is over. Have a Great Thanksgiving...and HOOK EM

BH85 Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Dayton should be 3rd or 4th in this list.

Bobcat1 Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 I will be the first to admit I am not Coach Jost's #1 fan, there are things I would do different, but I'm not the coach and I'm not getting paid the big bucks to stay after work everyday to practice or spend my weekends watching film. He has his own system, his own ways, but that shouldn't have any effect on how the girls play. If you think you not playing hard is hurting him, you're crazy! He gets paid the same amount win or lose, you're only hurting your self, school, and community. Ask any of the girls that played for Coach Ancelot if they liked her during the season, I can assure it you won't find many, but look at their records...Regionals two years in a row....speaks for itself.

Riding Solo Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 I am pretty sure that when VP32 started this thread it was about 20 4A not the state of Texas or the orangefield Bobcats. Just saying. I know I started the Orangefield talk. ;D I mean who really cares about Manvel, Dayton or Barbers Hill. They are not southeast Texas in my opinion. I hope those teams do well but not against teams from the golden triangle.

Riding Solo Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Yes, I agree Hillguy he/she never did. Just trying to get the topic back on point. The manvel comment pushed me over the edge. LOL!!!!!!
Riding Solo Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 For some reason "Hill" people hate on you guys. I don't, most are jealous of a successful program. I will pull against you guys when you play teams from the golden triangle but other than that I hope you guys kick everyone's butt.
mytwocents-28 Posted November 27, 2011 Author Report Posted November 27, 2011 Revised question. Who are the teams to watch out for in SETX in 4A. 8)
