People at work have been saying that were in trouble without him but we have plenty of depth at pitcher and several other positions. There will be some very good players left on the JV this year. 1. Nederland 2. Livingston 3. LCM 4. Vidor
Duplant makes the team better but Nederland would have won without him last year and will be able to win without him this year. Plenty of pitching....defense will be fine....it will ultimately come down to the bats. Lost a lot of offense and need to see who steps up and hits varsity pitching. You are right that there will be lots of good players left on JV which is usual for Nederland, but they need playing time.
Is this just a rumor or is confirmed because I see post like this all the time and its not true?
I don't know if there is truth or not. I was just responding to the statement that Nederland would be in trouble without him.
This is just from an outsiders perspective and you can take it for what it's worth. If this comes to be true we all know that Duplant would play a vital role in the success of Nederland baseball but I feel that Nederland will have deep enough pitching, play fundamental sound defense and be able to put runs on the board to be able to potentially win district again with or without Duplant in the lineup.
Tideman99 Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 I predict Vidor to win the first round of playoffs, maybe even two rounds deep. Their defense will take them there. This team is young but polished. As far as district goes, it all depends on the schedule. Whatever happens, its gonna be fun.

IMO, there's six teams in 17-4A alone that would likely beat them.

I'm not that big on the history of 17-4A in football but i would guess to the fact that the numbers of 17-4A are bigger after the second round compared to the numbers of 19-4A and 20-4A but this year we took a full sweep on yall. That proves that you can not always rely on the past. 8)
