Gonna be a great basketball season, especially once everyone gets their basketball legs!!!!!  Hoping for a great warmup games for the SE Texas schools!!!  Could be some really BIG time games!!!!

Yep. Silsbee was very fortunate that Ozen shot 40% from the charity stripe but Ozen was fortunate that they got to go to the line 40 times!! ;)

Damn it, Zeek!  You'll rain on anyone's parade won't you?  It was a great game.  Silsbee won because it was on our home court.  The same game down in the Pear Orchard would have been won by the Panthers. 

But here's the real deal - you probably won't go to another game this year where you will see as many
"Athletes" on the floor.  These kids are amazing - both squads.

Yeah you right - shoulda woulda coulda......Not taking anything away from Silsbee BUT when your returning football players spend most of the time on the court with maybe 4 hours of basketball practice you see these things. Trust me Ozen will get it together.

It was a fantastic start for Silsbee jumping out to the 16-0 lead, led 18-5 after 1st. But I give credit to Ozen as they made some great adjustments and really played excellent defense in the 2nd half putting a clamp down on the Tiger fast break. It also helped that Ozen's size advantage enabled the Panthers to kill Silsbee on the boards, 46-31 (Ozen's Maize pulled down 23!!!)

It was free throws down the stretch (4th and OT) that was the difference in the game as Silsbee made 7 of their last 9 (78%) to Ozen's 5 of their last 18 (28%). Also, Silsbee was battling the injury bug in the second half(three players cramping, another slight sprain) along with foul trouble. Tigers only suited out 10 and played just 9 versus Ozen suiting out 15 and playing 12. It played a role in the 2nd half.

Credit to both teams for their play last night. Both showed heart and determination along with being very skilled.

Not sure who would win a rematch because I know Ozen will get better now that they have their full team but also Silsbee will get better once they are able to get a player back (out for grades) and the 2 transfers are allowed to play.

Not sure. Paper work is in and now just have to get the ruling. Everything looks good and I expect them to play as soon as next week.

The one from Irving McArthur will have a big impact on the varsity squad. He is no JV player!

Don't worry we, Panthers, are easy to get along with and are great company contrary to popular belief...great to have you and your family aboard. From what I've heard and what I saw during the JV game last night, the DOVES are a welcomed addition.

      I like Newton’s chances here. I’ve watched  videos of Daingerfield what few I could get. Their big Qb scares me a little he looks Ike a good athlete. I think for a change Newton has a little more speed than the Tigers. That Samuel kid for Newton can move., and it goes without saying about Porter. That Hunter kid ain’t bad either. They scared me to death with their pass defense against Edgewood until I saw the video. That Qb for Edgewood can put it on a dime. And, his receivers could catch it. I’m pumped; this is the most fun time of the year for me. Go Eagles.🦅 I have to add this though. I watched the State game between the tigers and Yoe in 2010. Those guys looked like grown men playing as opposed to kids now a days who look like boys.😂 that was a heck of a good game.
