Lets see passing stats;Green in 16 games(thru 08 state final)=230/354=64.97%=3,195=37 td=6 ints in his sr.year (minus-532 pass yds=10 tds=1 int gms 14,15,16) =(194/298=2,663=65.31%=27 tds=5 int)***Herrera in 13 games=(234/342=68.42%=2,889=22 tds=7 ints)***Note Cody had 1,506 rush yds=7.04 per=25 tds and I don't have rush totals for Herrera's sr year. But if you look only @ passing stats they show Herrera was the better % passing qb @ Dayton w/o a 1,200 yd wr all/american AJ Dugat.Congrads to Andres Herrera on a great sr.year, you surpassed all my expectations coming just shy of 6,000 career pass yds after taking over for P.Ploch in late 2009.Awesome job,we're proud of your accomplishments.

I believe that when you do look at the rushing yards and tds for ah compared to Cody , you will see one of the many reasons why Cody was a highly recruited qb. Not to mention the types of passes were different, Cody threw down field more. All that being said, I also believe if ah was 6 inches taller, he would be highly recruited as well. Both were great high school athletes and enjoyed watching them.

With all due respect, if Dayton had Cody Green under center vs Manvel the game would have been more competitive. Herrera is a TOUGH COOKIE, but he was just too small to see over the pass rush & pass plays consistently broke down because of it. After a few possessions the offense lost confidence. That said, Herrera had a great career & deserves to be recognized. On the other hand, Dayton's kicker should have his own thread he's got one of the strongest legs I've seen in H.S. He's a stud.

I believe he is acknowledging that Cody Green was a great Quarterback, and using that to compare Andres to him to show people how great of a Quarterback Herrera is, and to further magnify the success of Andres.

NOPE!!!
Dont put words into my mouth!!!!
I have respect for both kids. They both lead their teams as far as they could, and I dont know why people always try to compare QB's. When you start comparing QB stats you miss sight of the real picture ( I.E. Green kicking Game winning Fieldgoal to send them to the title game, or Herrara's running mate Delasbour having to battle through injury all year).
Bottom line is Dayton should be proud that they had these two leading them!

I think it's worth noting that AH put those numbers up without being 6'4" 220. IMO, if he had that size, we'd be talking about him the same way if not better. I know, I know.... if a frog had wings...

Either way, I'm proud that both were Broncos and I got to watch most of the snaps they took in High School.

He'd have to be 10 inches taller just to be 6'2"....6 inches taller and he'd still be shorter than Drew Brees.

While you're at it....throw in Gregory Charles in 2007....don't even think he played in but 10 games.

True Greg did good things in a very short time.

Name                Comp    Att    Pct      Yds    TD    INT
Gregory Charles  145    249  58.23  2040  32      7

This year at Grandview he threw for 1898 yds and 17 TD's.
