Finally, everyone healthy for CS.
I believe THAT made the difference last night.
That and all the talk about our offense not being everything is has been hyped up to be really motivated the players.
Should we start a smack talking thread and pretend to be Devine or Wimberly? Just smack talk the Trojans til next week? ;) Hey... if it helps right?

I know nothing about Devine but if Wimberly is anything like last year... they are a great bunch of boys.  Very well mannered and GREAT Sportsmanship...  they are more like CS in that they don't worry so much about returning smack, they show it on the playing field.
I thought you was a "village idiot" if you talk smack? Don't root your own town out. Last year did you not see that Wimberly player, after the whistle, grab a receiver from behind and slam him on the ground? Only because he man-handled him blocking all night between the whistles. That was Wimberly. He was ejected for fighting, so no they didn't have sportsmanship, nor have we ever had a player do that. our player was not ejected and luckily didn't have any injuries. I talked to the Receiver he learned a life lesson that night to always protect yourself.
I think he either played corner or saftey.  He would have late hits, helmet to helmet hits and just played dirty. He was out to "put someone out"  I was happy when he was ejected. But as a whole,  the team had pretty good sportmanship.
I agree with that but isn't that what a team sportsmanship is about? The whole team. Most teams titled with bad sportsmanship is actually one or two players.

I guess you will pray for someone else to beat us this week, Kville? Here is some smack talk from one "village Idiot" to another. Yes, you left the window down on the short bus. Please put it back up. If Kirbyville is ever going to beat Coldspring in anything shouldn"t you be shooting free-throws instead of still talking football. I don't think you have been right on any post. Like I said no male, ex-football player, home grown from Coldspring will tolerate smack talk especially when we are winning.
Am I thinking of the wrong school?  Well hrmm... I remember lots of dirty playing in last years playoffs.  Columbus being right up there.

I'll be one of the first people to tell you I make mistakes.  I guess it's the lack of a male ego.  But don't mistake my refusal to take the bait as a sell out of my town.  I choose to allow our boys to make their own statement.

Good to see the Trojan O rumbling again.
IMO best game the offense has had this year.  Had at least 4 receivers make big plays.  Offensive line did a great job opening the running lanes, and Monroe and Gilbert were very impressive.  They were both running with determination tonight.  They were not going to be denied.  Scott played a great game.  Kept the turnovers down, and made some great throws.  Gonna be hard to stop if they keep playing at this level.
And what can I say.  The Trojan D is a beast.
All I can say is WOW! After the first couple of times we had the ball I was questioning this great defense that CS was supposed to have. Immediately after that they showed up and I wondered no more. The defense is as advertised and even more.

I have to say for a team that wasn't supposed to be able to kick or throw, yall kick and throw pretty good.

It was a good game with good sportsmanship as far as I could tell. Nothing more than just usual football.

Good luck the rest of the way. CS team coaches and fans were as advertised. Go win State. I think you gained alot of respect and fans the rest of the way.

Congrats Mustangs on a great season.

The old saying just keeps ringing in my ears this morning, "Sometimes your the hammer, sometimes your the nail". Not hard to figure out who was who last night.

Great job CS-O, no doubt you were the better team! Keep playing at this level for a couple more rounds!!!

To my Mustangs, go work hard this off season. Do everything ask of you and with all we have coming back next year, we will get our shot again.  ;)

That is very true!  Any one in uniform, or team spirit shirts, jersey's etc, represent the team. As such, their actions or opinions reflect the team.  This is just as true for the fans.  One slip up can make us look bad.

For an unarmed man you sure shot many bullets. You can't shoot at us and throw the gun down and walk away like nothing happened. This is just one of your many quotes: "No one is running from Coldspring..We beat ya'll like a drum for years...Last year when ya'll beat Kirbyville that was your state champion-ship...lol....I shore ain't hiding from no one from Coldspring..  WO-S will beat ya'll like a borrowed mule anyway. Why would you even come on this thread if you don't want to read about a team that played good and beat another good team.  There are lots of basketball threads on here that you can go to and check on your school.
Congrats WOS on a great season.

This year if Wimberly wins it will be Friday at Wller Highs School.
If Devine winsitwill be at Bastrop Memorial (not sure on day).

No offense, but you seem to misinterpret the difference between opinions and facts.  The above highlighted comment is not a fact, it's your opinion.

Coaches must of been quick on the stop watch. You can see speed and the only speed I seen this year was by the kid from Crockett. He was a true 4.3 TO 4.4 KID. I was at the NUC, NIKE, and UnderArmour Combines and you can tell right away 4.3, 4.4, or 4.5 speed. WOS has two that are 4.5 (One was not playing) but we have a TE that ran as fast as 5 of their WR or DB's, they are 4.7-4.98 at the NUC. Look it up. I guess they thought they are the only ones at the combines or able to use a computer. I accept that there are good and bad days at these combines but don't show me a apple and say it is a peach, One4All. lol

Waller is by Hempstead on 290.  Wallis is by Orchard.  Down between Sealy and Rosenberg on 36.

    • It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
    • SEC fan bases before Texas got there: “The horns aren’t ready for this. Every week is a battle.” SEC fan bases after Texas arrived: “Texas has the easiest SEC schedule ever!” SEC fan bases after every one of their teams has lost to one or more SEC teams from the bottom half of the standings, many of whom Texas beat comfortably: 🤐
    • With a big win against the rival to close out the year… look to see Lamar make the playoffs next year
