The only automatic bids are to the conference champs...8 teams, the following 8 teams are selected by a committee...like the one that ranks the teams...then I believe they start to mix and match...it gets weird ...

I've read that the ncaa loses money each year on the FCS playoffs.  Probably only Montana and Appalachian State make money their games.  Between losing money and no publicity is it any wonder why schools want to move to FBS?

I saw Montana play UT (Tennessee) opening weekend. They are for real and could beat half the FBS teams in the country, guarantee it.

I read that schools under-report attendance because the NCAA takes a big cut of that money.  The FCS championship is in Frisco, TX this year at a pro soccer stadium that holds maybe 25K.  I think the SHSU-Montana State game is on one of the ESPN channels this weekend so we'll see if they can at least fill up the stadium.

SHSU gets home field advantage throughout the playoffs until the Championship game... And Pizza Hut Park is a soccer-specific stadium that was built for FC Dallas, a professional soccer team in MLS.

Anyone see this Montana game? They are killing Northern Iowa in front of 25000 screaming, standing fans in 15 degree weather. That is why no team can win there! Great atmosphere.

Montana unbeatable at home and in the snow....but, dont think snow is in the forecast for Huntsville.  I think Slam has a good chance..btw..is the qb healthy..got hurt last game?

Don't know for sure about the QB.  But the word last week was that whatever the injury was it was minor.  My impression was that it was some kind of cut that they taped up at halftime.  What I heard was that he could have played the second half if needed.  Again, not sure.  Hope he can play.  They will need everybody.
