JRidge Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 Hello everyone,I am currious to know how to involve several of our economically disadvantaged youth in select baseball! Many talented youth give up on baseball because of the over-whelming cost of the sport! I know of several players who happen to be minorities who have potential to be great in this sport but simply can't afford to compete at the select level! I am interested in possibly starting a group under our non-profit youth programs but need some in-sight on how this all works! I have coached in two of the last three city major league baseball championship games and realize that their are kids that could have a future in this sport! If you have any helpful information to what it would take to start a select team and or would like to help sponsor one, please let me know! Ages: 13u & 12U Contact: John 409-466-9181
Guest TX_RENEGADES Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 I like your intentions here, I recently re-started my select team here in the area. Alot of teams charge montly dues, split tourney cost, and there is travel cost. My team TEXAS RENEGADES BASEBALL 11U there is no monthly fees. All my parents split the coast of tourneys as of now, once the weather is right we will start doing HUGE fundraisers to bring in the funds topay for tourneys, NEW uniforms, travel, equipment. There is alot of ways to do this and have a positive outcome. I run my team as a parent so I know how much the cost is. If there is anything I can help you on or if my thoughts kind of gave you heads up on where to start feel free to email me @ [email protected] or call me @ 281-683-1203. My team is based out of kids from all of the GOLDEN TRIANGLE. Coach EmilioTEXAS RENEGADES BASEBALL
