Ysleta is in El Paso's Lower Valley...used to have traditions that make PN-G's look quiet by comparison.  Had an all-girl drum corps that could be heard for miles.  Now the kids are indifferent to anything.  Hopefully, it will change.

Ysieta's mission, and the town that grew up around it,  were established in 1680, by the banks of the Rio Grande.  It still operates to this day.  It is the oldest in Texas, but Nac may have the "official" designation because it may have declared itself first.
